How should I dress when I grow up?

It's looking like me days of ragged tech & spongebob shirt are rapidly coming to a close and I'll be forced by necessity to once again go out and act like a grown-up. One problem, I have no wardrobe for it.

Not a big problem since getting a new wardrobe ain't nothing but a money-thang, but I'm now faced with the dilema of picking a style that is me since I'm starting out with basically nothing.

So what do ya think, how should I dress?

(BTW-One rule, no ties.

)

Become the one of the best in your feild. When your that good the company will be greatful to have you no matter how you dress. If I ever need to work for a company rather than running my computer shop, I know I will not be changing how I dress. I can't be bothered to do it.

Well, the skirts are out. I already went thru me skirt phase back in the late-80's and unless the Dead gets back together I don't see me going back to it. (I had a LOT longer hair back then...

)

I'm leaning towards Craig's choices, I like the jacket/crew-neck look and feel. I'm thinking of getting a couple of pairs of them "gadget-pocket dress pants" (I THINK they're dockers, I'll have to check though) and a couple of decent solid pastel-colored shirts to go with it....probably pink & blue. (Pink=non-threatening, blue=makes me eyes all prettiful )

I figure a few pairs of pants, some shirts, I already have some slip-on cloggy shoes that look like the ones Craig listed or I can steal a good set-o-birk shoes off me wife, an old tweed sports coat (yes, w/patches on the sleeves

), and I should be able to pull off the semi-professional grown-up look.

(Says the man in the old khaki shorts wearing his much beloved but VERY ragged "RTFM" t-shirt...

)

Here where I work (Kohls Dept. stores Corp HQ) Dress is Dockers and polos......... Fridays is jeans day for all of corp. My team we can wear jeans when ever we have projects going on......
