Marriage isn’t the easiest thing to go through. If you’re not busy organising venues, caterers and guests, its finding time to spend several months of your salary on a ring with enough blood diamonds on it to make an activist cry, while your bride to be goes into a full-on wedding mode trance that cannot be broken.

Of course, during this process, you might just realize that this is not the life for you, that you don’t actually want to be married to this person. And when you’re stuck with an expensive wedding ring and suddenly find out that your bride to be has dumped you, you do the only sensible thing you know.

I can think of a lot of things I'd rather spend money on to take my mind off of grief.

Well, if it wasn't going to work out, it's best they found out before they got married. As for the ring, it's good that he managed to regain at least some of the money he threw into that never to be wedding.

What he did with it afterwards is his own business, and why not indulge in some irrational, yet personally satisfying spending, given the situation? Better than holding on to the shiny trinket which he only bought to make that girl who didn't really love him happy.

Marriage might be good, but of course is not the only way of being happy. You can be hugely happy just being next to the person you love, there is no need of rings or expensive marriages.

Ah man this is epic on so many levels. I mean, yeah poor guy but look at that armor! If I had my way, i would get some Mjonir armor for paint balling just because it would be cool. Be made out of hard plastic so it doesn't dent or break
