Passing through doorways ups forgetfulness
Read Full Story Here.
_________________________ Ever go into another room for something and then forget what you were there for? A new study suggests that simply passing through a doorway can cause you to forget why you came into a room or what you wanted to find.

Re: Passing through doorways ups forgetfulness
I call BS on the study. Take something that can happen, people forgetting why they went inside a room, and then contact a study that shows....that some times people forget why they went inside a room.....oh yeah, great study, great investment in time and/or money.
(sorry, not in a good mood)

Re: Passing through doorways ups forgetfulness
No need to be apologetic, you are entitled to your own views. But I think what this study found is viable as it's happened to me so many times, to be walking through a door way on my way to do something or find something important and next thing, nothing, I'm as blank as a goat.
There has to be a reason for that. Why does it always happen when you enter another room? It happens too much for there not to be a reason for it. I think this study kind of makes sense.

It's because you get up and go into the other room so fast you leave the thought behind.... Seriously!

Bill Cosby once addressed this years ago! He claims that the trigger to our memory is in our BUTT. Proof: After you've gone into the other room and forgotten what it was you went in there for, just go back to the original room and, AS SOON AS YOU SIT DOWN, "Oh, Yeah! Now I remember...."

Probably because you don't think about what you are going to do while travelling but only once you reach the "destination", which more or likely will be in another room once you arrive and try to recall you've forgot.
