Sad Danged snow
Snowing lots here.

The temperature is dropping and the north wind is bringing in some serious lake effect snow. 12" and getting deeper

The wife has done nothing but look through the kitchen window and just stare.

If it gets much worse, I may have to let her in.

The previous 3 years in England were horrendously cold but this year it seems to have returned to the usual pattern of mild but gloomy weather. At the beginning of December this year it was 13c but the same time last year it was -10c. On Thursday were expecting 13c again so the chance of a white Xmas looks remote.

January coming, my least favourite month - hopefully it'll be mild and then we can get 2012 started proper and get some warmth back.

That said a small part of me would like a few days of heavy snow over the holiday

Well, I did just buy a Bolens 1886 with a Front End Loader.

It's danged close to being a CUT (Compact Utility Tractor).

It's 18 HP with a hydro trans. That's 1971 "real" HP, not the 2011 "mini horse" HP

So, I have a 10 horse with a plow, a 12 horse with a snowblower, and the 18 horse with the FEL. I'm READY

Here's a pic of the 1886...stuck in the south yard It's just been too danged wet and soggy to do anything

With all of the weight of the FEL, the rear turf just sit on top of the grass and spin, it's not going anywhere.

I do have some new tires coming in that I'll have fluid filled. Once I get them installed, it should be able to handle these conditions a lot better.

They are ATV tires but work well on GTs also.

Pic of tractor...it's a bit rough looking, but runs nice. As a hint to it's overall size...the rear tires are 26" tall.
