totally agree and i could expand on that even further...
I learnt that school was mostly useless...... factory like.... money grabbing system that really had no major interest in "teaching" any students anything useful. It was an ancient and obsolete system. I was constantly well ahead of the curve in terms of what my teachers were either teaching or knew themselves. I will never forget the numerous examples in which the teachers were repeatedly wrong and any attempt to correct them or even give correct answer resulted in detention/sent to the principle/reduction in grades...etc.... total load of shit. Example is a grade 7/8 science class in which the teacher was explaining density and came to a point in which he was trying to explain the opposite..... of which he didn't even have a damn term for. When i piped up and said "the Opposite of Dense or "density" is sparse or Sparsity".... he totally denied that and said it was wrong. that's just one example. another is during a math class in grade 6 i on a whim.. created a new match equation to solve one of the issue that apparently still to this day, they do not have the same math equation. If certain thing was present in the problem, it 100% worked every time and it required about 1/4 the amount of work to solve speeding up the amount of problems you could solve significantly. Not only was i ignored when i brought this work to the teacher.... but the teacher was unable to comprehend what i had done even though i gave numerous examples. The question came about is "how did i figure this out" initially, followed by being told to do it right and don't do what i had done, and follow the original way, they didn't want to see my alternative solution. There are countless cases like this.... where thinking outside of the box, not entirely following the ancient boring and totally debated sciences and physics and historically KNOWN to be inaccurate information that we were taught but is now wrong today.

least they are expected to... my school was using text books from 1950's through to the most modern being 80's (while i was still in school in 2003)...... the newest i think was a physics book which was dated 1992 ...
They didn't even discuss sub-atomic particles like quarks and such....
