HH Cribs
If you've got a video camera, and live somewhere - anywhere! - then why not combine the two and record your very own episode of mtv's Cribs? Obviously walking around with the camera and shooting in first person will do, but feel free to ask a housemate to film you!
Whack it on YouTube and post your video here. Will be fun to see around everyone's houses. |

Re: HH Cribs
I would do this if I could get hold of a decent camera...
Here's a couple of shots of my room in my shared house at uni, taken with my over-abused Nokia brick: ![]() ![]() The room's not huge, but I have a double bed, a desk and plenty of plug sockets, so I'm happy. The house is a fairly large 4-bed terraced in need of a bit of TLC and modernisation, and I have three housemates, who are also pretty much my best mates at uni - a guy doing geography and two girls doing English (mostly old English and middle-English). I could film a tour of my parent's place with my mum's camera when I come home for Easter in a few weeks I guess, but it's not really where I live most of the time, and their wacky house (that I had to live in a tent for most of 2009 while they built...) would steal the show :P ![]() Good job though Baz.

Re: HH Cribs
When you do post your HH crib video Judas be sure to include Google Earth pics so we can see that your nearest neighbor is like 50 miles away. I imagine your place to be this deserted shack filled to the brim with computers and other tech, like some sort of electronic surveillance outpost with antennas and dishes on the roof and your front yard is littered with Viking helmets and old monitors.

Re: HH Cribs
lol.. no
my neighbour is about 100 feet away at most to the south of me (used to be a empty lot when i bought the house).... to the north of me about 200ft... I'm fairly close to being in the center of the town.. a town of about 190 people.... Now the farm is about 10 minutes from where i live (approximately 15km) and the next nearest neighbour to that farm is 1 mile and a 1/4 away. which is another farm... The nearest town of which to that is 5.2km mostly north with a population of about 20 or less... not sure.. it's small. From there it's about a 20 minute drive to the next nearest town which is probably a good 50-75 people live... then from there the next is a 20 minute drive further to a town of about 2200 people.... here is Lucky Lake Top down Google Maps here is approximately the best picture using street view in the general direction of my house (cannot see it though) Google Maps this is the other town and a place i frequently eat (closest actual restaurant is 19km drive from lucky lake to birsay..)..probably the best restaurant to eat at... even the CN trains will take the time to stop their trains to eat there. Re: HH Cribs
Wow. How did that happen? I guess maybe you come up in searches for "mtv cribs" or something? Would that even be frequently searched?
Anyway, monetarise!

Re: HH Cribs
I live in a cardboard box all over Southern California.
No, not really. I technically live with my mother in law & girlfriend in Palm Desert, CA, USA. I'm staying with my aunt and uncle in Baldwin Park, CA, USA while I save up some money to get a place for my GF, our daughter, and I. Until then, I don't think I can put anything here. Oh, and Baz. Being an American, I can for the life of me NOT understand a single word of English you are saying. It's like, I need an English to English translator or something.

Re: HH Cribs
I SAID... i was looking at getting a new desk soon....
don't be hating on a nearly 40 year old desk... it's done an amazing job and only has required the 4" 2x4's to keep it rigid and necessary upgrade to put the slide out keyboard underneath... that poor desk held a typer writter and then a TRS-80 followed by a Tandy 1000, compaq presario, and every generation following that i've built.

Re: HH Cribs
Actually I like that Judas is able to fit 3 monitors on one desk, my desk is massive, takes up half the damn room but I can't even fit Triple monitors if I wanted to. But WTF with those gigantic Stereo speakers! They aren't even the same color. Time for an upgrade

Re: HH Cribs
they aren't the same color due to one simple reason..... The bright baige or whatever color you want to call it was damaged and salvaged because the speakers retail for approximately $1000 a pop, and i couldn't chuck them away due to some jackass handling the one speaker after so many years poorly one time resulting in the face being broken/smashed up with the speakers themselves totally unharmed. So i paid a proffesional with the tools to cut such a large hole, to measure/make a new one that could slip right in and be re-essembled.
I don't have a 15" holesaw. So i've 4 identical speakers all rated 20hz to something quite high..... the tweeters sing so excellently, any audiophile would enjoy it provided i had my yamaha amp attached. Still the z-5500's are doing an excellent job. The center speaker i replaced with a speaker that i swear was mistakenly priced, and lacked an extra 0 on the pricetag. It's most definitely a very very amazing quality speaker. I was going to see if i could mount the TOA Club speakers i have, they are a 12" $1500 dollar per speak unit intended for club/theaters and require a fair amount of power, unfortunately modern home amps and even the z-5500's obviously simply can't drive them, even though they are 8ohm speakers.... Modern amps "wattage" ratings are total load of crap. I can use this 80watt 1981 Fisher amp or the 1974 Baycrest 80watt amp to drive them and blow them totally apart due to the superior wattage/power output capabilities. But a 1000watt stereo or surround sound amp from jvc/pioneer/yamaha/etc can't even get the 12" drivers to show any decent excursion let alone produce a decent clean thump, sounds like a week muffled whump instead and the amps fans kick into overdrive emediately due to the power requirements. Nothing wrong with the speakers otherwise.
