I'm at work right now, So we dont keep any bookmarks on the little PC in the supervisors office.
So I just type in the URL of any place I want to go.
But this time I typed in www.driverheaven.com by mistake Its some kind of Bible site
Talk about getting the crap scared outta ya!

What they need near the top is a link to driverheaven.net for those lost souls, and just to be sure people know what site it is put Zardons avatar there

That's very frustrating to me. It's one thing when people buy a domain to sell it, it's quite another when they use it even though the name has nothing to do with their site.

a holding agency had that name just after this site opened and became popular and when asked to sell it they asked for $1000, i said I wasnt interested and they dropped their price to $300 (after 4 or 5 emails), by this stage I was totally pissed off with it and told them I wasnt interested on any level as I hated the thought of paying 20x the standard domain name fee.

These guys have just recently bought it from them paying im guessing at least $200-$300 over the standard $15-$20 domain name fee, just because this site gets so many hits....... when really they should have spent the extra money on hiring a designer instead of firing it up in frontpage.

its all a game and a ploy and im sure they will get people just like vengence who accidentally type in the wrong url. blah.

Well, Hawk, if you look at registration information, you'll see that driverheaven.com was actually registered long before driverheaven.net was. It would therefore be impossible to prove that they, in bad faith, bought that domain just to capitalize on our popularity -- that would make them mind-readers! However, I think it could be proven that this Bible group purchased and began to USE driverheaven.com in bad faith, inasmuch as their site has nothing to do with their URL. It could be considered cyber-squatting/infringment but Zardon is aware of the situation, as is the rest of the administration team, and we have already decided to just let this problem be for the time being.
