What I Bought

Last week or so, I asked you all the question "what should I buy?" and the options were basically this: get an awesome video card and a cheaper DVD-RW or get a fast but less fully-featured video card and get an AWESOME DVD+-RW drive.

Well, I followed Jeff's advice. Throwing caution and frugality to the wind, I bought both.

I spent a little more than I wanted (it was still a steal though), and I am seriously considering selling the video card on ebay, making $50 off that sale, and going with a 9800 instead. But for the time being, I have a Sony DRU-510A and a 9700 Pro All-in-Wonder.

Congrats Java! Either choice you would have made would not have been a bad one to most people

! So what do you think of the 9700? Sweet isnt it!

Hmm, since you already have the AIW I would hold back on the 9800. Mainly because the whole hype is the Pro version, and if you can abtain a 9800 np that will flash to a Pro version. Honestly, what gain would there actually be? However, you do need to tell use your thoughts on the 9700 Pro!

LG makes some pretty damn good drives, good find on that one.
