Lost Friends
Hello Everyone,
Normally I don't get too personal unless I know someone very well. However, today I received a phone call from the mother of a long time friend of mine. My friend died this morning at 4:30AM est from injuries sustained from a car accident. He got off work around 2:30 this morning and they think he fell asleep at the wheel. I grew up w/ him all through school, we was unseperable like brothers. The past few years we had not spoken much since he had moved to Michigan. So now I'm sitting here w/ a 1/5 of Absolute Vodka drinking to my friend, and all others that have lost truly good friends over the years. |

sad... my best regards..... alcohol is not the answer ... do as you must but we must belive that eveything happens for a resaon or i the theme of things .... mabe it was just his time... mabe god just called him home ....
rember you have plenty on other frends offline and on here if you feel the need to talk in this trying time... -neon

Dear Friend
Having lost the best of my life to alcohol, and the best that I have know and loved, I cannot help but feel that alcohol is just a little speed bump on the road to death. We all die someday, consider what your friend would say right now if you told him that you wanted to drink yourself to death. I feel the hand of death everyday, therefore I embrace life.
Death embraces us all, you should embrace life, embrace the light, embrace the living and embrace that which is the hardest to accept... That there is very little that anyone can do about what befalls those of us we love and cherish. We have no control over most of everything that is our world. It would be terribly sad and unfortunate for you to start imploding emotionally and become swallowed by the bottle... For God's sake, if your reading this, please for the love of yourself and whatever higher power you embrace...take the damn vodka and throw it out the window, throw it in the street..... go for the longest walk that you have ever walked... and talk to your higher power... if you really ask the most fundamental question. if you really want to know why people leave our lives and move on to another dimension. I believe you will find the answer...at three in morning, when you hear the sound of a baby crying... or see two lovers embrace in the moonlight, and you will feel the breeze on your skin, and you will taste another day of life...and if your patient enough...you will see and know the answer.. I cannot give it to you... but God remembers us for what we gave, not for what we took... give yourself a chance.....embrace your weaknesses.. and live another day...the only thing you have control over is yourself.... If you love yourself, and love your friends and family... put the booze away.....stop swallowing poison.... and start swallowing life... consume it... become drunk with life.... it is the most intoxicating drug in the world... because without life.... without hope. without faith. there is only despair... a great pit of misery you will have to climb out of.... stay away from the pit..... go for the walk... and talk to your higher power... God Bless you....my friend..

Hey,
Thanks for all the responses, and yes I know alcohol is not the answer but it sure doen't hurt right now. I don't drink often but when I do I do it well. Thank you for your sympathy and understanding, and I hope if anything it lets you all know if you have a friend out there your not quite right w/ or haven't spoken to in awhile to do it. True friends are such a special gift, they don't judge you or mock you. Never forget someone who really is a great friend, and has always stood there beside you through thick and thin. |

Hey Nec, my prayers to you and your friend's family...
I lost my best friend whom I'd known since elementary school last spring. He was 39 years old... wife, 3 kids... Sat up in his bed and died... his heart just stopped.... Celebrate the good times and the good memories my friend, he is in a far better place right now, and I believe he is and will be with you always.... |

sorry to hear about your friend. i lost a high school friend the same way and i wish i could of hang out with him agian. i always ask the lord to tell him a few things; that there are people down here still thinking about him, we love and miss him, and that one day we will see him again. hang in there everything will be ok.
