But of course.

Well, not all that much is known about Arnold's views, as he has no political experience. We do know that Arnold is a liberal Republican. He is perhaps politically most famous for backing a series of afterschool programs (Proposition 49). He is known as being socially liberal but fiscally conservative. And, if nothing else, he is perhaps prouder to be an American than anyone else in the Union.

California is a state known for being pretty liberal. It also has a state deficit larger than the budgets of every single state except California and New York. I think that a man known to be a fiscally responsible moderate has got what it takes.

I think some people don't like the idea because he is a celebrity, but I don't see how that stands in the way, he has just as valid ideas as anyone in America. I'm with you guys, all for it.

At a news conference after the taping of the show, Schwarzenegger promised, “I will go to Sacramento, and I will clean house.”
He told reporters that he was disturbed by California’s schools, which he said were last in the nation, and its falling bond ratings, which he said had made the state’s securities into junk bonds.
“We just see things declining and declining and declining. ... California now is being run by special interests. We have to stop that.”
Schwarzenegger said he would not be a captive of those interests, saying he did not need to accept campaign money from anyone. “I have plenty of money myself,” he said.
Friends and others close to Schwarzenegger had said that he was leaning toward staying out of the race because of opposition from Shriver, a member of the Kennedy family and correspondent for NBC’s “Dateline.” But Schwarzenegger said Shriver supported his decision to run.
And he said his decision also was not swayed by the announcement earlier in the day that Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein would not run, eliminating one of his most formidable prospective proponents

I think Arnold will win, and I think he would be good at getting Cali. on the road to being a better state. Besides, wasn't there an old wrestler who was working in the government? Well, anyway, if I lived in Cali., he would have my vote, if his standings are good that is.

Your state already has a deficit that exceeds the budget of every other state except New York. You have excessively high taxes, a bizarre approach to the problem of illegal immigrants, are hostile to business, and have a leader whose solution to an energy crisis was something called "privatization" but in reality was little more than a socialist takeover and administration of industry.

I don't see how California could get any worse with Arnold, really.
