Many DNS Errors

I am noticing many DNS errors on web sites. Are these sites shut down or did the worm get them? This it the only favorite site I could get into to post this question. I tried to get into google and it was down.

it appears many ISPs and server routes have been targeted lately and I recommend if you are having problems to try using a public proxy server. you just enter a proxy server into IE, connections.

http://www.publicproxyservers.com/index.html this is a nice list to help you retain your net activity.

ok it seems like your routing is really screwed up, what part of the world are you in? and ill hit you with some public proxy server ips in here.

(are you also sure you are worm free?)

I installed the patch for XP and all critical updates are installed. Norton is updated . The firewall in XP is activated. The errors occur in either XP or 98 (I dual boot). Right now I am in 98SE.

enter one of those into your IE proxy server setup and let me know how it goes. you may find it a little slower than normal but if you find a decent one it wont affect you too much and you should be able to surf again until your ISP/routing problems are resolved.

Tools/internet options/connections/Lan settings/proxy server

enter the IP and port in there, then relog onto IE and you are accessing via the public proxy server.

and to copy and paste, control C, then control V

I tried but it says " LAN settings do not apply to dial up connections' I have a dial up modem. I live in the boonies. DSL is not available where I live , thanks for the info. The problem might clear up .I think I will call my ISP to see if other customers are having the same problem.
