I'm thinking my pIII was remarked, look at its limits. Only 960MHz out of a 933MHz chip. My old PIII700 would hit 980.

I'm thinking it wasn't. Intel itself couldn't really manage PIII CopperMines above 1GHz. The high-end ones are already close to their limit.
