The Barton 2500+ is quite simply a 3200+ that has had its wings clipped.

I run mine all day long @ 2.3GHz ... and I never hear it complain.

True that the 2500 is very overclockable. But arent they all. Isent the 2500 just the most overclocked cpu due to being the most popular seller due to price range? Would the 2800 not be just as over clockable? I am not speaking for mine because I'm sure there are much more experienced people here that could take it further then myself. Or does the 2500 accually overclock better than the rest of the series?

Never the less it's all about the 64 bit which I'm deffinatley getting the second it gets to Vancouver. Benches I have seen are throwing down scores a P4 could not hit.

Actually I have no idea what core stepping mine is... that wasnt the way that I chose mine... I took a tray of processors and tested all of them to see which one hit the highest speed with stock voltage... that was the one that I bought.

But to answer the question: All cores, on all bartons are physically the same ... just some yields clock better than others.

You have access to a whole tray!?!?! You have time to test that many!?!?! (Don't they put like 25-50 procs on one tray?)

A tray of processors is 6x8 meaning that there are 24 of them... using a motherboard mounted on a desktop, I just simply see which processor post the highest... doesnt take long....

out of the the 24 all of them hit 2.2GHz on default voltages... but only a few would hit 2.3GHz at default voltages.

This one will post @ 2.4GHz with the voltage set to 1.8volts
