Default Post Don't listen to the naysayers!

I personally don't find it beyond the realm of possibilities, the vatican has a long history of secretly doing a lot of scientific research that it keeps from the public.

I dunno about an actual wayback machine, but I don't doubt they have some sh*t up their sleeves they're holding back/hiding. The church vs. scientific community has a looooong-assed history, and there are a lot more religious crazy bright folk than I personally care to admit to.

My fun thought after the story was if they had one and if they actually filmed the crucifiction(sp) of christ, why didn't they make it public as proof of their religion for the unbelievers such as myself? My personal fave hypothesis right now is 'cause they discovered that Jesus was black and it blew there minds, (Before you flame me, all the evidence of christ's life would imply that he was black...or at least very dark complexioned.), and they didn't want to admit that Jesus was black.

Wasn't the pope experimenting with sex a while back?
I'm sure that there was a rumour about a condom being found in his room....

There is no working time machine. End of story.

... sure they're hiding plenty of things...maybe even a time machine, but I'd be willing to bet that it doesn't do jack squat...... I know I sound stubborn, but how the hell do you travel in time? If it could be done, we'd know by now because of some scientist "popping" into the world in the past. Anyone ever think of that?

yes.

so where's your proof that it hasn't been done.

i have no proof that it has, but then again, either you believe something or you don't.

Not necessarily. They didn't claim to have a time travel machine, (which I also kind of hold long odds against and for very similar reasons as your own), but rather a chrono-televisor ; which I sort of thought sounded like a time-travel viewer type thing, ("I can see you!" by Damon Knight was the first thing to pop into my mind actually. Spooky/GREAT short story, it stands out in my mind after 2 decades! ), which while still pretty far-fetched at least sounds feasible on some level to me. I could see someone inventing a device that might be capable of "looking back in the past" so to speak because 1. It wouldn't allow the user to alter or affect the past & 2. Because we already know of the existance of sub-atomic particles of matter that do actually appear to move backwards thru time. Making the stretch of someone creating a working time VIEWER given that info is not too huge of a jump for me.

Okay, so they must be hiding a video camera, right?

Ah..er.. I've got the real deal here. And it ain't no visor thingamagig. It looks more like a '48 Silver Streak. Thanks for the visor tip though. I hadn't looked there before and found the manual. I think I know now where I went wrong. There's a switch on the dash labeled "DEST." with two settings: "HERE" or "THERE". Since I was already already HERE I chose THERE. But the manual says "DON'T USE - BETA TESTING". So I musta missed my destination by a whole bunch. But now the dillema is what to set that to when I try to leave here (if ever). Damn I don't know WTF I'm doing. Hope the Brits get off their butts and start helping me out here.
