Well as far as the car's concerned it's in the dealership's body shop's hands now. Insurance is going to cover it. It was funny, when they were towing it off, water was running out of the exhaust - probably trickled out for a good mile or so!

I'm thinking the block's cracked though. Had a funny oil leak underneath the car - kind of foamy looking and sticky. Can't be good. Oh well, it's a 95 Neon, I'm not sweating it.

Hope you get power soon Chaos, and that Kate misses us.

.... actually, it depends for the car... it could have just filled with water SO much....that it overflowed.... If the car was running for quite a long time... then yes, possibly cracked heads....but i doubt on the block....then again, aluminum.... if it's aluminum.... most likely the block would have warped...not cracked....

That would be nice - but its an iron block with an aluminum head. Actually I'm sort of hoping they write it off and give me a tidy sum towards a new one.

...most likely will be the case as the damage done to the car after a flood...can be extensive... (considering how much water might have done to certain parts of the interior....)....but for a standard non loaded car.... water doesn't hurt em......

things are going good other than the lack of power here....I am borowing power from across the street atm we escaped without damages other than trees......there are some pretty beatup areas though

1 area about the size of a football field close by that was a greenbelt with over 200 mature trees is completly flattened

nope most people have their power restored all around us.....we just are one of the few thousand without power.....I am just running off an extension cord from a neighbour that has full power back
