This is just an observation, but as soon as the words 'Politics' and 'Religion' are mentioned then things rapidly take a turn for the worse! I have seen it happen many times in the past. You can be having a great time with old and trusted friends when all of a sudden the atmosphere can change in an instant as soon as these topics enter the fray. In general the discussion on the forums is light-hearted with tongues planted firmly in cheeks but tempers soon flare up when the dreaded P&R is mentioned. It just isn't possible to have a controlled discussion on the subject , such is the passion that the subject arouses. I'm all for freedom of speech but good friends can be lost for good once the strength of their beliefs are exposed. I don't have an answer, it's just a bit sad when the posts become very dark and depressing but thats life I suppose

Just go to the flame forum and bring up *any* topic on the P&R and it will turn into a online boxing match before it's over with

. I try to abstain from those subjects as well.

I used to believe that a lot of what Japan did during World War II was justified and, as such, had many strong debates with my friends.

The exchanges got pretty heated.

But we are still friends, and so long as we respect the people here on DH that we debate with, everything should be fine.

I always stay away from P&R as much as possible....heh round my dad and uncle its the same way with puters.......neither knows diddly do da day about em but they always know more than me it seems
