Now I can officially say that I got my I/O Magic 52x24x52 CD Writer for $19.99!
![]() I was able to get the burner a while back at Best Buy on sale for $49.99 and a $30 dollar mail-in rebate. AND, I can say that I'm VERY pleased with the performance of this drive, too. It's really been dependable. |

Eh, I think Bestbuy had a similar rebate for a 52x32x52 Lite-On drive not too long ago. Still, it's a pretty good deal.

Anyway, how does the I/O Magic drive compare to others? Sounds like an Aopen drive repackaged. I have two of those lying around and they are actually pretty good.

I've been completely happy with the performance using Easy CD Creater 5 Platinum with all the updates. I tried Nero for awhile and couldn't get it to write from networked drives. Maybe the latest updates correct that, but, I'm very happy with EZ CD.

Oddly enough, no one else wants to join our conversation.

That's a long time. They probably wait till the offer is over before they send them all out.

....I/O Magic's really are the stuff to get if you can find them...... they are like magic treasures... relics.....whatever... only show up once in awhile... (well around here anyways)..... and damn, they work great.... never had one fail... however, i've had liteon fail..... LG TERRIBLY CRASH AND BURN..... i'm not even going to mention complete and utter no namers....... so far, Yamaha has been my drive of choice for CD-RW.... faster buring then the "faster" liteon/lg burners. (mines 44x24x44).....solid burn...disct@2 is so sweet.....
