Ya Judas it's Altech Lancing's 5.1
I think there the shit personally but I live in a condo. So I have any distortion never really had it loud enough to get any distortion. And if I've had it loud I have turned the bass down a bit first. However I have last months CPU magazine and they reviewed 5 Makes of speakers and gave these best pick. But in the review it sais "If I lived in an apartment these speakers would be perfect because you cant go nuts with a subwoofer." Goes on to say the bass is passable.
I can tell you That pink floyd has never sounded better. The mids and tweets are the shit. And When ever I have droped some drum & bass or breaks they have been just as good. But If your looking for something that can drop some heavy bass these arent for you.
In CPU they give the Klipsch ProMedia ultra 5.1's a good review and mention the subwoofer being there new flagship revamped that delivers 170w of bone rattling bass.

....well.... i had the choice between the one you have...and the one i have which are actually pretty well the same...... thing is, i was just wondering if you might have a problem with yours..... sounds like altec lansing has a problem with there bass bins... as to me, it looks like there ports are large enough for the the size.... my bass bin speaker isn't rattling... it not having enough airflow... there is restrictions..... And i can't really fix it... as for the high-mids.... most excellent...can really pump out some seriously good tuneage....... digifire 7.1 sound card helps...

This is actualy a transitional state for this case. I have the Silver Aluminum one on the way and it's going to be air brushed with some custom designs on it. I will repost pics of that when it's done. As for now, here it is:

Same case sharkims - although I have green glow in the darn IDE cables and 2 s-ata drives to go in mine - I went with a better PSU though

Well to answer your question I do not have any problems with my bin. But the fact remains, I have never used it to anywhere near it's full potential. So I could have a tipical altech lancing problem with it and not know it. I'll throw down some beats tomorrow afternoon and test it out. I'll let ya know. I am currious now aswell. As for the mids and tweets. I can hardly believe the sound produced by these tiny speakers. Time to throw on some floyd.
