pleasant day off.....
I usually have Mondays as my day off. how did I spend this part of it so far? playing mp2 (up to part III now), watched out of time (great movie), read up on ripping dvd to divx/xvid (
) and now decided to add a pc to our HT setup (sick of burning SVCD to watch once and pitch and office chairs aren't so comfy for me and the wife...). So just placed my newegg order of:NEC 1300A DVD burner NEC DVD drive OEM sapphire r8500 WD 80Gm 8mb cache hdd NF7-S mobo Figure now I will give the wife the nf7 v1.1 I have and I will get the new v2.0 Then I'll take her old kx7-333 mobo and build a very quiet home theater pc with it. Figure I'll use:kx7-333 xp1700 512 samsung chipped pc2700 r8500 santa cruz sound card 80Gb WD hdd network it into our home network and be all set ![]() How did I get to this point you ask?? well, I first went looking for a stand alone divx and xvid player but none could be found (for very cheap anyhow). For $200 I figured why not! Just bought components I did not have and figure I'll load up mr. 80Gb with mp3's and movies Now the long wait for international shipping

get a low noise PSU shuki and a zalman cooler with an almost silent hard drive cooler for the theatre rig, ive built an XP2200 (1.5 volt) windows 2003 (on 24/7) and its virtually silent and runs at low to mid 40 temps. (unlike my main rig which is pretty loud !)
Those Zalman coolers rock as long as you dont start overclocking and raising core voltages ! ive got the NEC1300a myself and I flashed the firmware to a modded one (im in work dont have the link) and I can now burn some cheap single speed minus R media (50 discs for £20) at 2x. fantastic burner as well as offering better media support overall (with the modded firmware) ! |
