LOL. I bought that to direct the air that I'm sending to my Radiators server case. Was only like 24 bucks. Worked really good for what I was trying to accomplish.

Craig my house if full of dust & my rig doesn't look like yours. No offense man but maybe it's time to invest in an air compressor or something.

I've been thinking about picking one of these up. http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...gkk.0&MID=9876

Your link doesn't work, but I saw a commercial for one of these on TV yesterday. I thought it sounded like a good deal. Maybe this is what you meant to link to.

Home Depot ***Well it looks like that link doesn't work for me either-- stiupid Home Depot web managers. Anyone who wants to go there and see- just go to tools/air compressors----

Only 99 dollars.

I want one.

Hartford, Connecticut.

The main problem is that this house has no oil or electric heat. We have a wood stove for heating. It heats up very cheaply and quickly, but it also fills the house with smoke.

Err I have that same exact duct, the Sunbeam.

I've tried hooking it up two different ways, CPU to hole in back of case, and CPU to hole in front of case, both ways I had temps of 50C idle with a SmartFanII and SLK-900(A), fan at full speed.

Without the duct I get 40C idle... hmm big difference the opposite way...

But I have heard people have great success with it, I guess maybe it just doesnt like me.
Oh well.

Huh? Smoke is not dust. If there is so much smoke that it leaves "dust" on your PC, you need to get out of there- imagine what your lungs look like.

Yeah, kinda- I grew up with a woodstove in my house for 19 years- I know all about smoke (and chopping and stacking wood)- but I never had so much smoke oin the house that I ever saw any dust form from it.. You should have enough of an updraft that no smoke at all comes IN the house at all. The only time we ever got a backdraft was when there were 50+ mph winds, or when someone that didn't know what they were doing tried to start or stoke the fire.

Yeah that will do it. The back part of house which has no basement used to be heated by a wood burning stove. I know your pain Craig...you don't know dust folks if you don't have this kind of heating.

We don't know what we're doing.

We have only had the stove for about 2 years, and we only use it in the winter time.

Hey craig, maybe you should stick like... cheese cloth of something over the side of your case.. like a big air filter... I dunno, maybe that's stupid but it could help.

Hmm that is all i ever use to clean my computer and all the PC's at work. It gets the most dust out of your system and even the stuff in the hard to reach places. If you are worried about the pressure of the air, back it down.... Hell when you take your A+ they even tell you the best thing to use for cleaning your PC is an air compressor...

The only thing I worry about with regular compressed air is moisture- Some compressor systems have a line dryer that filters out all moisture- but little ones surely don't. Canned air doesn't ever have any moisture- just the gas that propels it- but that dries instantly.

I have 2 in-line dryers on mine so moisture is no problem on mine... Why 2 you ask?? When I used to race R/C cars I airbrushed all the bodies and needed no moisture in the air while painting and found the best solution was 2 in-line dryers.... Has worked great!!

I used to race RC cars- (just for fun- not a pro or anything)

I built an AE (Team Associated) RC10 (original copper monocoque) with a 13 turn triple- All bearing- Stealth trans- stainless CV's- Thing went 40 mph with a big gear on it. I dumped ALLOT of money while I was doing that- but man it weas fun.

Holy crap! What kind of speed control do you need to run that beast? Custom?

I was going to get a TC3 and race one of those (I actually raced against them on some tracks)- Those looked like lots of fun. Mine is in a box on the top shelf in a closet --I raced for about 2 years and then moved away, haven't raced in 3 years.

Someday I may take it up again. I'd also like to build a helicopter someday. That looks like it would be fun too. You should take a video of that crazy 12 cell beast while your testing it or something. That would be nuts.
