arrow It's COLD outside!!

I just got back from dinner and my hands are still freezing! We've gone from near record WARM temperatures yesterday to a current temperature of 41 F. With winds whipping at 9-12 MPH the 'wind chill' makes it feel 34 F. And it's supposed to get down to an actual temperature of 29 F.

Well, I was hoping that would be obvious by the 41 F. I meant that to be understood as 41 degrees Fahrenheit. For us Southerners used to 70 degree weather, a 30 - 40 degree drop in temperature is pretty drastic. No getting acclimated to it this way.

The thing is, in a day or two, it will be right back up to the 60s and 70s again.

Certainly I don't envy you at all!

I do, however, come from the northern U.S. and recall getting 4 inches of snow the last Sunday of June one year. That was the year my parents moved us to FLORIDA.

40F is cold? 15F is cold? Heck, that would be fairly warm during a nromal winter where I am at. It will be dropping down to sub 0 in a week or so and then by mid December, probably around -30F highs with 20mph wind. It is gonna be fun...thank goodness for a car that has a great heater.

you are right that 15 isn't cold but it was 63F just yesterday here.... That is a littel bit of a temp change in 24 hrs... lol I hate -30F... camped in it once in a tent in Boy Scouts... that was damn cold. We camped for 3 days like that.... it was fun.. but I was happy to be in a warm car on the way home...

.....actually, about 10*C is really nice to sleep in.... as long as the rest of your body is warm... it's actually saposed to be really healthy to be breaking in that extremely cold air.... (as long as it's not an air conditioner...in which case.... a liter of water ever 15 minutes would be needed)

Geez, we might just get a little snow here if the temps keep going down! Been a while since I've held snow in my hands.... but then once/if it snows that'll be the last of the fluff I'll see until next year since Texas weather really likes skimping on the powder. Maybe y'all should take your winter vacations down south somewhere so you'll be able to just wear a T-shirt and jeans and laugh at everyone who has to wear two coats and thermal-underwear (my mom and dad can't stand the cold).

Meh, for the last week we have had freezing rain, hail and snow here or there. Temps have ranged between 15-39F.

19 °C over here, incredibly warm for this time of the year. But very foggy... could have made it for the last outdoors beer of the year.
