Good bye, couch... *sniffle

Yesterday night my mom and I put on the curb an old couch that we've had since I can remember.... It was replaced some months ago with one of those L shaped couches that my aunt had but wanted to get rid of since she got new furniture. I don't know... I feel like I've lost something now that it's gone... gah, I'm a damn pack rat when it comes to stuff and keeping it, but Mom was adament about it and it was taking up space in another room, so I had to assist her in taking it out.

Here's a pic of it just after we put it next to the curb. There's a little 13" TV peeking out from its side there becuase it stopped working properly and is real old as well.

Here's another pic in the morning before the trash men came to pick it up.

Even with these reduced size pictures you can see the firm notch in it where we would sit on it most often.

Damn it, why am I so sad that it's gone? It's a couch, but it was "oh so" comfy and easy to sleep on and I grew up on that thing... and now it's gone.

I know, it's pretty pointless sobbing over a couch but posting it makes me feel better.

I'm such a softy....

You should have given it a burial in your garden! So everytime you mowed your lawn you could get a warm feeling of joy as you remember your old couch.
It will always be with U. The first couch we had that I can remember was an awful thing that would click on you and give you static shocks if you sat on it!
That was the 70s, may be back in fashion now and sitting in some ones house!

Mom was just in a "throw away the junk" mood, so the little TV had to go. We had around 6 TVs in the house and that was the least working one and easiest to chunk. We have another to throw out but it's one of those old 27 inchers and has become part of the furniture in one of the rooms (there's lots of stuff on it

I used PSP8 to compress the pics since the originals from my camera were 1280x1024 and 300K a piece, so now they're around 30-40K and quarter size.

That room where it was looks so empty now....
