Ok I gotta know..... How many of you guys have tons of finger prints on your monitor screen......I hate it when people leave prints all over the screen

You certainly nailed one of my biggest pet peeves. It bothers me so much I keep a bottle of Windex right in the office for that very reason.

Now, just HOW do they all get there to begin with?

I work with 71 women and they all leave nasty lotion enriched prints all over the flat screens at work. And the key boards are just slippery with oil of olay as well,

...... i refuse to let ANYONE touch my monitor... if i find out... i kick them off.... i make them wash there hands before even touch the computer......

My friend..... which has now left.. (used to live with him)... would smoke and use my computer... holy... was i thoroughly mad... but not only that... he smoked so much that the mouse and keyboard would smell.. and that if you used either.... your own hands would radiat the nicotine smokey smell.....disgusting....

i certainly do.

i hate it.my mother sometimes uses my rig to play solitaire and her sight is ok but not the greatest.

she is forever touching the screen with her finger that just to hi-light the card even on a 19" crt still does the same thing.

she is always denying she does so but seen her touch it quite often.

if i tell her she thinks i am raving mad about my rig & how the screen looks.

there is nothing worse than trying to frag an alien or soldier in c.o.d and all you can see is huge greesy splodges on the screen.

...actually, if you can go into your nearest Glass wear place.... (glasses)..... and they'll have a solution as well as a really good fabric cloth..... they might even give them to you...... use this on your monitor.... DAMN it cleans up nice... cheap.... and works well on other parts of the computer.... such as the outer casing......

i have little kids so fingerprints on screen are daily news

i use a wetones/nappy wipe followed by a tissue and it cleans it really well

(so does windex and news paper)

Ouch! That's actually one of the worst things you can use on the monitor screen. A paper towel can actually leave very minute scratches will begin to show up at some point or other. You need to use a soft cloth.

Using newspapers is an old, old method of cleaning glass. I grew up using a special mix glass cleaner and old newspapers. But, I don't think I want to use newspapers on my monitor screen for about the same reason I wouldn't want to use paper towels. It's just too risky to create an annoying scratch.

Sure, it's a well-known item among window cleaners. Very old 'secret' if you want to call it that. Works like a charm on house windows.

It just 'works'. Believe me, when I was growing up one of the ways I made money was cleaning people's windows in the spring. EVERYONE would give me their old newspapers to use for doing it. Very standard item among window cleaners. There actually is a 'rag'-like material that is used in newspapers.
