Staring...STARING IN AWE!
The other day a friend and I were in RB Computing store here in Ottawa and while we were waiting for the sales dude to look for P4R800-VM some guy came in and showed an invoice. Then an RB guy carried out a AMD 64. I was like oh ok.. So he's going 64. Then the kick ass ASUS K8V Deluxe box came out. I was like "whoa" then more boxes with an ATI AIW Radeon 9800 PRO with an Audigy 2 ZS box ontop of it came along as well.
To top it all off a huge box with the Creative label on it containing probably 6.1 or 7.1 speaker setup. We just stared. Stared and stared. ![]() That guy was gonna have A LOT of fun with that rig! It's one thing to see signatures with kick ass rigs..it's another to see one being bought and the actual retail boxes just inches away from your hands~!

As far as I know the 64 FX still outruns the P$ extreme. Not by as much but still it is the winner. The 64 rocks!

I'm going to soon be experiencing the exact same thing.... BUT, i think i'll be going dual or triple AMD solution ( if a triple mobo can be found)...... So far, the list contains a Radeon 9800 XT along with 4GB of PC4000 ram plus so far, the Audigy 2ZS 7.1 with at least 4 SATA Hardrives... (all raid 5).... lets just say i can't wait to get my hands on these parts and put the sucker together......*droolz*

Actually, if I had money like that I wouldn't need a hobby like tinkering with my computer.

.....it's not lotto.... ...although it'd be nice.... simply putting my hobby to good use..... the things i've been able to do.... For example..... i had a athlon 600... 512mb of ram.... 20gb hardrive... a nice video card... etc. ... i went from that to a 1900+.... 512mb ddr....2x 30gb.....nice video card.... with maybe a few extra $ (candian).... being like maybe i spent an extra $50.... then after that.... upgraded to barton 2500+ for maybe $15..... having people bring in there computers and paying for the labour and parts... is good... i buy retail.. with full warranty.... i sell it for what it retails at the time i end up selling it..... but with the warranty packages... they come out to a similare price.... depending on how old it is... i'll of course drop it.. but labour usually accounts for a fairly damn good profit....

hehe - I'm fine with what I have atm - being able to push a barton 2800 to 2.65GHz is quite a feat on a Coolermaster Aero 7+ (I tend to run it around 2.45-2.5GHz for the majority of the time). I'm after an A64 an Diego myself!

I'm not complaining about my rig
Just that my 9500 PRO is not cutting it in terms of my high IQ and high FPS needs. I'm saving up for a 9800. Christmas will be real sweet if I can get one of those. I'm not asking much. Just a regular 9800....so I can mod to a 9800 PRO
