A lot of games still for sale will run on that machine Saint K, but it would be most helpful to know what kind of video card and how much ram is in the machine.
Could you come back with that information?

Unreal Tournament would probably play ok on it.
Need for Speed 3 and 4 would be all right too.

I believe that's a Geforce2 GTS class card - nice for its day. If so, then just about any DirectX 7 game will run nicely at lower (800x600) resolutions. Also, any game using OpenGL released at about the same time (Serious Sam, Quake 2 type from about 2 years ago) will run well too.
If she gets scared easily, Serious Sam (my preference in first person shooter - if she likes those on occasion) can be configured in Hippie mode - you shoot the bad monsters (the Kleer skeleton creatures that come at you can be kinda scary - they jump at you and surprise you) and flowers gush out of their bodies - its hilarious. Gamespot I believe rates the games on a scale from one to ten, with lots of customer input so you can expect the ratings to be fairly accurate. Ask her what kind of game she likes (the Sims comes to mind as well, Civilization II or III, The Need for Speed series - all of good quality) and check there for the ratings. Happy gaming!

The original UT should run well, UT 2003 probably won't except at the lowest resolution and color depth with that processor and video card.

Well, its hard for her what kind of games she likes, cause its her first "real" computer, she had a p1 90MHz before so never really played games. Now i build this old pc for her from left over parts cause she is czech and cant afford a pc cause there to expensive there. She played cs and need for speed when she was here a few times, thats what she did like... So i'm kinda just looking for good titles and will give them to her so she can play it and decide what games she does like

Starcraft will run well on her computer. Same for Warcraft 2. They are still fun to play despite its relatively average graphics.
Speaking of emulators, you can also download for her ZSNES, Gens, and Mame32. |

Does she like adventure games?
The Longest Journey, Syberia Deep Space Nine: The Fallen (if she likes Star Trek, that is. I know a LOT of women who have played this game and LOVE it!) Does she like mystery? The Tex Murphy series is excellent ... if you can still find them. |

If she's into the RPG deal, you can always try Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics(I think this'll run) ... they were good, although you've got to be into that sort of turn-based style RPG to like it.
