Question about Mac and the Internet

Since the net is filled with Windows and probably find more software for Linux stuff... What does a Mac user do on the Internet? Seriously.

Thanks to Mac Daddy for pointing this thread out to me....

I find that I game A lot with my mac..... Games run super freakin smooth, and look like total Eye candy. (unreal, quake) Also running linux on a mac IS VERY interesting....

I also find myself playing and downloading a lot of emulation stuff.... emulation.net has a lot of great emu related stuff, ONLY for mac.

Besides messing with digital pictures, (adobe, bryce, 4d) Im emulating.....

So what your saying is you spend $$$ on a Mac and then spend all your time trying to make it into something else?

Im not the kind to take offense to things,

Although I will to that....

MACs dont need to be MADE into anything.... they can do ANYTHING....

This is why I and other choose them, they dont exel in one space only... They qick ASS in everything...

(64 bit emulators just work much better, as well as 64 anything)

The same as the other Internet users do - read information, browse forums and make silly posts

Remember, the internet is about information and not programs

EEK! Mac Daddy clears his throat !!

Mac systems are based on the Motorola CPU's .. and IBM .. well on the Intel's.
As I mentioned on a thread a long time ago "Mr. Burn's Best Os's of all time" Sorry ya missed that one Stu

Microsoft and Intel in general have been responsible for some of the most poorly coded POS software we adapt too as an OS. Mr. Burns blows man
I started programing in 1981 on TSR80 DOS based systems.
Linux seems like a bright light in the horizon .. (thx Uber)

At the time I graduated Motorola coding was preferred because it wasn't segmented
Upon a visit to the Chalk River Nuclear facility near my home of Petawawa, Ont .. I found something interesting. They used IBM's for payroll and employee management only

Ninety percent of there research and "Artificial Intellligence" computers were Motorola based "Macs".
Just some food for thought ..

I hate monoplies and Mr. Burns has one ...
Mac was intended and integrated upon the research level .. And I will always love my 68020 ..
I can do things with that fossil from 1987 that might amaze you

Donator
I personally didn't regret working on my sisters G5 Dual 2Ghz with the 9700. It seems to run smoothly with Photoshop and Illustrator while modifying extremely large canvas'. One thing I really do like more on the mac than on the pc is the video editing software. Final Cut Pro (freakin expensive, but damn usefull) is really such a joy to work with. (if only a pc port of this was available). Aside from that, I really don't know what else a mac would be good for.

Gaming on a mac is a joke. Linux is more of a gaming platform OS than Mac OS. Office work also is more efficient on a PC because you really don't need a 3000$ + machine to type some word documents or build webpages. The last time I saw someone coding on a mac was with WebObjects and I could have personally slugged that R&D guy for starting the project with this tool (not that it's bad, but come on... use at least something linux related). Actually, the reason why WebObject just seems useless is that it becomes another layer of an already heavy web structure that look like this (the WebObject part was to communicate and parse SQL queries... stupid) :

apache (lnx) --> Tomcat --> WebObject --> (some idiot decided to code a wrapper in Prologue... he was promptly fired when the directors got a hold of his doings/coding trends) --> Oracle DB.

But ya gotta admit that Mac OS X's gui is so god damn direct and useful (not tech savy, but useful)

Damn straight brother .. The IBM (and Intel/Microsoft monopoly) was based on marketing .. and very good marketing

If we wish too get down too the research level .. then .... Ahh I need too say no more ..
