If it were that simple I'd be a millionaire. But I think the DOW went back down below 10,000 now. I guess it usually does after a milestone number like that, investors get nervous -too much too fast kinda thing. Then if the market supports it, it will continue to climb and stay above 10,000. Not a big deal really, but it's better than 9,000.

no no...... that's the whole problem... either A: everyone gets nervous and sells at once.. causeing a huge problem.... even possible crash.. (1929 anyone? ) or... B: everyone for some reason gets confident.... everyone buying.. noone selling.... can cause a bit of a big uproar..... When your dealing with paper money.... nothing REAL...... and something gets a little off balance... there is the very good possibility of something crashing....
