I met a vet

Tonight after fixing several computers I went uptown for a drink and ran into a 23 year old vet of the IRAQ war. (I am a vet of the first IRAQ war and PANAMAH). I ran Into a E-5 who had just returned from IRAQ. If this soilder is a example of the men and women that and serving in IRAQ and other confrontations that we are in it make me proud to be a part of this great county. I have never met such a level headed soilder or individual in my life. I dont post much in this forum as you can see but I had to say something tonight as I was impressed by his knowledge and how humble he was. I will you leave you with this quote.

it is heartwarming to hear and read positive remarks about veterans
I am a veteran of the first gulf war
It totally changed my life
and I see things from a different perspective now.
When I returned in 1991, I was met with criticism, scorn and indifference
but my father, a vietnam vet told me that this is common
for Americans and typical of people everywhere.
My brother serves now and remains silent about the what he has seen.
My only regret, is that I still cannot understand why warring nations cant settle
their differences without killing.
But when I see Saddam finally rooted out of his hole
standing before the world and answering the questions that need answers.
Then I understand, the world cannot tolerate men such as this
So it is up to the men and the women of brave nations, to confront and overcome
and pay the ultimate price if necessary.
Being in the military is a job
but it is also service
to ones self, ones country, and to the objective.
It is sacrifice, selfless, and with courage for a common goal.
