Free Desktop Theme Trial

For those of you who like to try new desktop themes I came across this prog in PC Format. It's called Talisman and there is a free 30 day trial if you want to give it a go! It looks pretty cool to me!

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

hmm not a bad app other than a few things

it only skins the desktop and taskbar really

no windows skinning at all

even in shell mode

if they could make it skin the windows with the 4051 theme then id be a happy man as I like the way IE looks in it much better

Nice, but bloated. One good point about it is that it's damn faster than WindowBlinds and DesktopX.

I'd rather just use this then get the appropriate visual style here. A lot simpler, smaller and completely free. Enjoy

themes

I started using Talisman back in the mid 90's and it has come a long way since then, but is still bloated, and a resource hog(better now). I have also used Window Blinds over the years, and too has come a long way but still a resource hog and very bloated.

Talisman is neat in that you can not only use themes to create a desk top look that you want, but you can easily change each aspect of the desk top and how it looks. The Talisman look is totally different and the possibilities are endless. There are a lot of talented people making Talisman themes, some which are very intricate in design. There were still some limitations and some bugs that would pop up now and then, as well as a few crashes.

The msstyle themes for windowsxp are more up my alley these days, easy to change on the fly and enough variants in the color schemes so that you can change till your hears content.

I used Talisman for about 4 years, and Wblinds for about 3 years, they were fun, educated me on some basic designs, and I had fun with them, but it was time to move on.
