online store help
Can anyone in the UK tell me if they have ever bought from http://www.microdirect.co.uk before. I've been looking at their site this morning and they appear to be very competetive. I can save nearly 50quid off the cost of my next upgrade and would like to use them.
I've just never heard of them before and would like some feedback is possible. Thanks |

They look very competitive Logla but I've never used them so I can't comment on their service! I always use Scan and Overclockers and both are very good!
Those prices sure are keen though!

i will also say never used them myself.i always use overclockers.co.uk and the odd time www.dabs.com but dabs are a little more expensive than oc.co.uk.
they could be ok but i understand the concern as for myself i believe if prices are too cheap do i sacrifice on after sales service if needed. but just have been looking at a couple of comparisons (cases) there is very little in price difference.could just have an offer on what item youre after!! |

Yeah, I usually believe that if something looks too good to be true, then it usually is.

that would be £50 toward the watercooling setup I've been after for ages. I'm just stuck trying to decide which I want first.

Yeah I've used them, not the actual online store I visit their shop in Manchester. Never had a problem.

In that case, I'll more than likely be using them.
Thanks for the info! |

Order placed last night.
So far I'm not impressed. I recieved an email straight away to say that the order has been confirmed and will be shipped to my address. The not so good part is that they have not taken payment from my bank account, and the order has not yet been shipped. I would expect this to have been done already as i have payed extra for the pre-12pm delivery time. I will wait till 4pm and see what happens. |

I hate when a company does that, I generally order from overclockers.co.uk as I know they have always been good to me personally and everything arrives on time as it should be. I have read stories about their after care being terrible but the only time I had a problem they replaced the part without any hassle. Other good stores in the UK are scan, dabs and I know mates like komplett and ebuyer. Another part of my reasoning in choosing overclockers.co.uk is they either use parcelforce or royal mail (special delivery I pick), and they always find where I live. some other dealers use city link and other delivery services and ive had so many problems with that side of things in ireland, I tend to stick with the ones I know will get here.
incidentally, microdirect have a high alexa hit rating of around 22,000, not really a perfect judge of how good a site is, but it means alot of people visit it so they should have alot of clients/customers. |

I've been double checking my bank account and it looks like payment has been taken now. The order still doesn't look like its been dispatched yet though so I've emailed the store to see whats going on.
I've been having the same problems with OC.co.uk last week. I ordered 2 UV SATA cables and payed extra for 1st class delivery. They didn't turn up for four days although I think this has something to do with royal mail. Now as for City Link - dont get me started on them. The company I work for uses them to ship all of our components, repair kits, printers, monitors, pc's etc and we have to collect them from the citylink depot. The service with these guys is shocking. Parts regularly get redirected to the wrong depots, they turn up damaged on numerous occations or just plainly go missing. I've been asked time and time again by work to return parts that I've already returned. Ever seen a 42" Plasma screen being thrown accross a room onto a concrete floor, by a delivery driver? I have and for that reason I will never use a store that couriers through them ever again. EDIT: Looks like AM-Trak will be my courier for this order. My last rig came through them and landed at 9:30am - very impressed. I think they have a depot about 1mile from my house. |

I encourage everyone to check our these online stores at www.resellerratings.com and see how they've been rated if at all. If you use them and they are good, then leave feedback about it. It only helps future buyers.

Well, its now nearly 6pm and I still have no idea of whether or not the parcel will be delivered tomorrow. My only hope is to call Amtrak in the morning and see if they can find the consignment number from my address.

delivery is most of the hassle ordering online, I hate it. our local stores are terrible though for pricing and availability. no option.
