http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/yourweight/bmi_metric.shtml (there is also a metric version)
oh ohhhhh I am 26.37 thats not bad but not ideal... I knew that anyway over the last 6 months I gained weight and I have fat on my chest now (very little but before I had nothing) and on my rips too... I stopped doing any sports in Novemeber and started eating more and working full time on computers.... .uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh anyway now for spring I am on a diet (well not really just health eating) and I am doing more and exercise and as soon as I move into a new flat I will go mountain bikeing again.... so how many of you are overweight according to the BMI calculator

IMO that BMI calculations is pure crap...i mean its all about individuals, for an example i am 1.92meters tall and weighs in at 94kg, and i do workout, so i am pretty fit....still i have a BMI of 25.5 and thats considered overweight...
Most of my friends that also goes to gyms, and doing sports would be fat if they considered that Body mass index shite...

***** Anyways, the whole idea of that like you said is for couch potatoes. Still, even at that, I think it's not accurate. Your body fat should be taken into consideration along with your body mass. One can naturally be built without ever using weights for that matter. One can still be "underweight" yet have a pot belly. This is nothing more than one of those survey things. Like the ones you find people on livejournal doing "What LJ user are you most compatible with" and stuff like that. |

I'm 6'3 and I'm 189. But this is because I'm focusing on shedding the fatty tissues on my stomach so I'll have a six pack during the summer for Florida. Once I get that, I'm probably going to start eating a lot, so I can gain muscle mass and then shed it again. How much can you arm curl on a flat bar? |

haven't really done any pure "weight lifting"... i got my build from working on a farm most of my life so far.... I couldn't say how much i can curl.. or benchpress.... what really pisses me off is the fact that i have Exercise induced asma...... I don't get tired... i lack air!

Bench pressing isn't something that proves one's strength, it's more towards the side of arm curling. |

I agree with you. I plugged in my height and the weight my Dr. said I should be for my build and it tells me I am still over weight. In order to get into the "ideal" area I would need to be 25-30lbs UNDER what my Dr. told me.

I'm 5ft and weight about 90lbs (guessing) I haven't been to have my height or weight checked lately.
My BMI is 16.87, I'm underweight if anything.
