I am using an Audiovox CDM 8100. It's not that fancy and isn't as good as most Nokia's, but it did only cost my 7.95$ CDN (after buying 50$ of junk at FutureShop). It works better now since they (Telus) posted a software update.

I suppose I should have set the ball rolling by telling you my own phone. I use a Nokia 6210, its easy to use, reliable and the memory capacity is brilliant ! The only thing that lets it down is the absence of a composer but this has been added in the latest model

Ericsson S868 on Virgin Mobile
Looks like the "before" in an upgrade your phone advert, very slow startup. Trium Geo on Vodaphone (affinity wireless - what a bunch of jerks, conacting then without paying extortion rates is as difficult as possible) Not a bad phone, but no melody editor. Has a "passive flip" covering the buttons, quite robust except for a pull-up antenna, though it only needs extending for poor signal areas ... coverage = better than Virgin Alcatel 303 on Virgin Mobile (competition prize) Small, fast, and outranges the old Ericsson. Do you not get to keep the phone when the contract's up? Many contact phones are not locked, or will at least work with PAYG from the same network. Virgin is not bad for PAYG (15p/min for first 5/day, 5p/min thereafter) Fresh Reducer from CarPhone Warehouse is 15p/min for the first minute of each CALL, 5p/min therafter in EACH CALL - not good if you make many calls, but not bad if you make long calls but not many of them) Orange is ok (PAYG) if you buy the £50 voucher T-mobile - the new tariff is a rip-off And if you need more than PAYG - Your brain is being nicely grilled!

I have to say that I am depressed with the mobile phones in use here in America. Up until three or so weeks ago, I lived in Japan and the cellular technology we have there makes an absolutely embarassment out of any mobile phone used in the US. I used to think that the US was behind in technology, but then it hit me -- the same companies that make the phones in the US --Sony/Ericsson, Sanyo, Nokia-- make phones in Japan, too. It isn't that the US is behind, it's that the consumers don't care. Americans apparently do not care about ultra-thin, ultra-light, ultra-small, TFT-equipped, Java-enabled, 3G cellphones. I can't for the life of me grasp why, though.

that's very new (in Bangkok) never play with it yet.
i still do play a lot at almost every marked/models avail here, friend's son own a mobile shops, friends and me like to talk with the kids about mobile fone and he always bring with him all new products.. IMO Ericsson is always good with batteries i just dont like how they do with the SMS and its screen layout and now with Sony? well, never had a GPRs phone on my own yet and i think that one is good with its. ; |

I got my Siemens ME45 this morning, it's not as user friendly as my old Nokia but it is packed with features. Once I've digested the 100 page user manual I'll probably get the hang of it.

the ME45 has a very style (and more) on its own i believed you'll like it very much.
the SIM may very from provider to providers (but the phone itself shud be about the same at all market places).. so check it out and then you may like to check the below too. Free update to the ME45 GPRS firmware.(also some good FAQs there) ; |
