Here's my very simple and clean dual monitor desktop.
I can't stand when people put ICONs on their desktop!
The desktop is just like a desktop in real life. You don't permanently store things there. You put them there temporarily while you're working on them. When you're done, they go in folders in the filing cabinet.
Honestly, when I get working my desktop fills up sometimes all the way with files that I'm just working on that day. I can't imagine trying to navigate around permanent icons all the time!
Need to launch a program? Bottom left.

Personally i like stuff on desktop ... easier to get to. I also notice with huge pics computer can run slower to display desktop so i keep it simple

I concur. I like my desktop naked too. Iconless. But I do have 9 quick launch items. Basically, I took the essential from the desktop and threw it onto the quick launch. I see you have the Recycle bin there...

I thought you meant the desk you keep your PC. My windows desktop is neater than hell, my real desktop I found a 13GB hard-drive and a Voodoo5 trying to find some papers I've misplaced.

lol

I hate finding things when cleaning around my room. I misplace a lot of things, I get angry because I can't find them, then replace them, and BLAM aw there it is...now i feel guilty. But without losing something old, you won't get that brand spanking newer version of it
