Opera Browser
EDIT: Really, with so many alternatives available to IE, and alternatives which block pop-ups automatically, how are pop-ups even a problem? I've used opera for so long that I can't remember the last time I saw a pop-up. Also the lack of conformance to HTML standards, gaping security holes etc, make IE the worst possible choice for a browser. Good lord how many articles have been posted on DH in the past week about how crappy IE is and the need to switch? Kinda reminds me of the guy who's house is caught in a flood, climbs up on his roof and a boat comes by to pick him up, he says "the lord will save me" another boat same answer, finally the water is almost over the house and a helicopter comes by and he gives the same answer. So invariably he drowsn and goes to heaven and asks god, "why didn't you save me?" God says I sent 2 boats and a helicopter!

google toolbar has one,i use that at the same time as pop-up stopper.
but considering, these have only blocked something like 4 pop-ups in several weeks.might have something to do with i often use ad-aware and window washer 5.5 to wash and bleach all my unwanted cookies. Last edited by MIG-31; Jun 29, 2004 at 07:54 PM. |

pop-up stopper did not really do a good job imo. seems like popups are getting worse. i really feel bad for people with dialup.

theres always the firefox browser
Just remember to allow whichever blocker you use to allow the pop under on DH. Helps the site stay free. |

I will never understand people's insistance on using a horrifically coded, obsolete insecure browser, when there are far better alternatives available. Really I cannot comprehend it, can you tell me why you would stick with something like IE?

It's probably not going to keep me up at night, but I like to understand why people do things, philosophy is a hobby of mine as well as archaeology and anthropology and it just makes no sense to me. I enjoy understanding the reasons behind things, I'm not trying to bne an ass just genuinely interested.

i'm one that HATES or REALLY doesn't bother with BETA's at all.. however... i'm so impressed with this RC2 that i could probably say it's so stable and excellent.. that it may as well be official.... Make, it may be worth it try out.. just crap the network install... it available right off MS's site...

speaking of alternative browsers - i have been using firefox for a whole 10 minutes… but yes i noticed the google toolbar popup blocker was useless… the altavista searchbar had a decent pop-up blocker, but a useless search engine
