normally I hate these hollywood things, but both have been really entertaining films. id put the edge with No2, better overall script.

Only thing I will say is Toby Maguire is just about one of the worst actors ive seen, he is almost in the same league as keano "one expression for 2 hours" Reeves.

no but you cant tell me he was great in spiderman 1 or 2. his facial expressions are pathetic. unless he is acting the role of peter parker who is obviously retarded? he has this one look of bewilderment through the whole film, at the enemies, himself, his aunt, the girl he wants, in the bank, in the fights ..... kind of like when you need to go to the toilet but it just wont work.

He is quirky. But, he's not a great looking guy, so he must be there because of his acting skills.

He's the perfect Peter Parker, in my opinion. If you've read the old comics; he's what you'd imagine him as being like in real life. Just some odd-ball, geeky kid.

I think he is there because he looks exactly like Peter Parker did in the comics and proved massively popular in the first one. Maybe im being harsh on the guy but whenever I watch him in the films I just dont think he puts enough into it. just my opinion - and he irritates me with the one look the whole way through the film - maybe he did research on the comic books and copied a still frame from a drawing.

good kids films though, pure escapism.

2 because of better effects. I have no idea how they are wasting so much money of fx that looked ok in 2 but worse in 1. Star Wars 2 had a lower budget but much better effects imo. It still boggles my mind why the 1st made so muc money.

Well, he was popular before Spider-Man, but Spider-Man did put him over the top. I was actually a fan of him before Spider-Man. Though I can understand why one wouldn't like him; he is weird.

In any case, I loved the movies. And I cannot wait for part three, which'll be out late '06, I believe.

Wonder who the next villian will be...

Im hoping they tie in several villains, I mean is it impossible to have more than one villain a film, seriously, there would be one main and a few other side villains. It HAS to be venom though, no #@%@# way they can leave him out, but it seems green goblin 2 will be coming at least for a stint.

I could believe that, they got the dynamics/movement spot on, not just the effects, but the whole choreographing of the scene was top notch. I dont want to go into too much detail in case we have people here who havent seen it, ive had a few films ruined for myself in off topic, so for those who have seen it, try and keep the comments a little obscure

The next one is Green Goblin again. (Or so one would safely assume).. Number 4 should be Venom..

Just thought of something, there will not be a Scarlet Spider or clones series.

Scarlet Spider was the coolest.. but since they decided not to give Parker web shooters..making the Scarlet Spider would be whack. Scarlet Spider has even more gadgets than the regular Spidey. "Impact Webbing"

Yup. As I said, there's a part three slated. My only hope is that they it won't suck like The Matrix sequals did and that there won't be any actors replaced... Tobey was, actually, almost not in part two.

well, the only thing is there could be a venom movie without spiderman, but it would be more difficult. Im pretty convinced that after 3 the actors have their contracts terminated and will want to "diversify", therefore declining 4th or more. Vin Diesal is the best venom I can think of, but we shall see if they make one.

I really liked the opening credits of #2 (not gonna be a spoiler.. have to see it for yourself)

Well next villian is likely to be HobGoblin... and I think Tobey plays a good Peter Parker, he has that geek look to him. Hopefully they will keep Jameson's Son around for the Promethium X story line, (which holds Venom) and i think they made a reference to Brock in the movie already... not saying where tho.

or it could be Doctor Connors... Jeez there are too many possiblities...

And where is Felicia Harding???? was she in the comics? or was it just the show?
