Move to Firefox
Hay, I've just changed my web-browser to Firefox after reading an article in todays Daily Express titled "The peril of Microsoft" detailing the flaws in the IE browser and the vulnerbilities facing users that use it.

yeah this weekend I did a fresh format, and gave Firefox and Thunderbird a go instead of Netscape. Firefox is definetly an awesome browser, like it more than Netscape. Thunderbird is a pretty good mail client as well, I'm used to using outlook 2k3 and its Spam filters(which are quite good) compared to the active training filter in thunderbird. Wish it loaded up quicker much like Outlook, but otherwise its fine till i find my Office 2k3 cd
![]() Never touching IE again, and i havent for months. VIVA LA 6800GT!

Firefox is a sweet browser, but try Opera if you're wanting a DL manager. Opera is IMHO the best browser out there.

I have been using Mozilla for years mainly under Linux.
Actually prefered Mozilla to IE but never went to IE even with WinXP PRO. Mozilla was not very stable and the plug-ins were just not there. Then came FireFox and even more important really bad security issues with IE that Microsoft has fixed only in SP2. I tried the 1st beta of FireFox and did not stick with it. But a couple of months back I switched. So for me it is Mozilla under Linux and FireFox for WinXP PRO. You might ask why not just go with Mozillia for WinXP PRO as well. I don't know. FireFox does everything I want the Mozilla does. I am using Mozilla 1.6 right now under Mandrake 10.0 RC1 (AMD64 version). In fact I am using it right now. Doing Linux coding tonight. Yep, posting from Linux here. Greg

Well I have to admit I have never had a virus, not one, ever.
I know the reports of problems with IE hijacking is real and no fix yet so it is not a bad idea from that standpoint alone. For that reason I my daughter "MUST" run FireFox. She was getting viruses several times a week for a while. Kids!!! For me it is more a matter of using the same browser between Linux and Windows, which is nice! Plus I love the tabs and pop-up blocking. Greg

I love ff. Like the latest version of Opera too, but had problems displaying some forums correctly...it would give a timeout popup. FF has no problems and is a little quicker than Opera for me.
