What to do at work......

I find myself looking at one more hour at work and then I can go home. I am absolutely bored to tears. What do you guys do at work when you are bored like this? I usually end up staring at my monitor and give myself a headache!

emmm... post on DH... check emails... close up early... break computers with hammers... stick screwdrivers into monitors and see what happens... snap keyboards over my knee... make a lassoo out of a mouse... poke my boss' belly... yawn... find something funny hiding in the shop or upstairs... stick knives in things to see what happens... wipe a computer for the hell of it and stick an older OS on to surprise the owner... shall I go on?

To tears you say? Crying usually kills a lot of time.

Why do I do? I take in the beautiful scenery of girls. The bonuses of working in a mall.

... see what fun we can have with an old hard drive when it's been opened up... works quite well as a frisby! lots of momentum behind it due to the weight... good to whack the casing over people's heads too - kills a few minutes at least... or the rest of the day if you do it hard enough

see what's going on at DH, piss off customers etc..

For Example, customer looking at a fax transmission report, "is this all that went?" Yes ma'am. You see our Fax machine is one of the newer Half-page fax machinces, the thought process is that all the important information is only on the first half page of a stack of documents. The recipient will be fine with that trust me.

Donator
Check emails (every two minutes). Check where the engineers are on the tracking system and reroute them to jobs halfway across the country (that's always popular for a laugh). Reconfigure the network so the network printers fail and then I have something to do. Make an excuse to leave (survey, call out, client meeting etc.) and go mooching round looking at totty, technology or whatever or simply park up out of the way and have a kip in the car.

No.. actually for ANSI it should be:

/* Prototype */
void foo_job_all_day(void);

void foo_job_all_day(void){

stuff

}

But really I think it should be:

/* Prototype */
int foo_job_all_day(struct go_home * );

int foo_job_all_day(struct go_home * ){
thread_create(smoke_break, each_hour);
thread_create(go_pee_pee, each_hour);
thread_create(go_take_a_dump, ON_DEMAND);
while(1){
if ((Write_code()) != 0)
return (go_home->bored);
if ((debug_code()) !=0)
return (go_home->mad);
if ((create_manual()) != 0)
return (go_home->do_manual_tonight);
if ((train_support()) != 0)
return(go_home->sneak_out_since_no_one_was_there_to_train);
if ((deploy_code()) != 0)
return (go_home->anyway);
if (sick())
return (go_home->and_throw_up);
if (need_to_fart())
take_smoke_break_and_fart_in_elevator();
}
