Set Attributes... I set the permission to my folder to 555. Normally it's set to 755. I removed Owner write access. I did this because not very many notice the permissions on the folder, that way no one could accidently delete something in my folder. Wasn't even thinking about the index.htm in my folder, I just didn't want anyone to accidently delete my DH sig. I just set it back to 755 and deleted the index.htm file. Anyone with a descent FTP program can do this, I'm not sure if you can restrict attributes on a ftp server, I tried looking it up, and found nothing. I don't even think, if you were at the actual server, it still would not delete without setting the attributes. If you ever have problems deleteing anything on a ftp, always check the permissions. I have had problems like this a few times when installling PHP-Nuke, you have to set permissions like crazy on folders. I logged in to the ftp through IE and it doesn't support Set Attributes... I use a program called LeechFTP it's a nice freeware FTP, it's got it's downsides, but it does the job. Again, sorry for the problems I caused everyone.

Well maybe I should ask for my own folder- I guess the honor system only works if everyone plays by the rules..

yer man! this ftp rocks!
my website is only like 1.5mb. anstbro is a nickname i came up with me, cause most people call me ants or just say "hey bro" and yer im aussie ![]() edit: You guys dont know how long i'v been looking for somewhere to upload my site. (Only this 2nd half of the year i got into web building). Now i'v found a good relyable and stable ftp. Im happy! My ISP offer some webspace but because there such a larger network u have to wait for your site to upload. Mine never came... Anyways thanks again! Last edited by antsbro; Oct 19, 2004 at 01:21 PM. |

ok - update - scrub what i just said... I just upgraded my hosting package... for an extra 3GBP a month I get double the bandwidth (with three months free)... so now I have 800GB/month transfer available... so dhuploads is back and running again... some short downtime! lol... It's back... but i'm afraid that it's clean... same username and password and url though

slight change to the username - "u36132583-dh" instead of u36132583dh - but the password is the same. Full access to that folder as usual... please be considerate to other people's uploads... it has worked very well so far.
Please try to avoid large demand files... 800GB per month transfer may sound like alot... but when a driver or other large demand file is hosted 800GB can go in a day... the main use of this server should be for images/sigs and small video files etc... small files... should someone wish to host a large file - please contact me first via pm or jonmacrae@lincolnshire.eclipse.co.uk (msn email and standard email address)... enjoy! |

Great, thanks alot, this is really trully a great service and superb for hosting small videos and images, thanks again
![]() And if someone pullls that trick againg by hosting drivers and "huge" files, ban their IP, but hopefully people will respect it this time. Last edited by Erroneus; Dec 28, 2004 at 02:51 PM. |

Is there any way we could find all the files that were lost in google cache? I tried but no luck- but maybe I didn't do something right. If the page was cached, maybe all the files in my folder were cached? Maybe I could get them back?

I don't think google caches the files, just a snapshot of the site
