Please don't abuse it though, once before all of the sudden everything got deleted for some reason.. I think someone was using it as a file server or something, not sure..

Yes it is a very nice thing for him to do, we all appreciate it.

For everyone who was using this service and in the past few months index files have been affected by some strange toolbar... here's the situation as it stands:

It appears that a virus must have gotten onto the server... It affected EVERY index file within its reach... this includes my index files which are only accessible via my master username and password. I'm still unsure of the source of this problem. Apparently a friend of mine with a server that's hosted by the same company as me has had the same problem... so i think it is safe to assume it was a problem at this companies end and NOT a malicious act by anyone who has the username and password for driverheaven uploads.

All I can say is sorry for the inconvienience... I hope you all had backups, otherwise rewites of index files will be required i'm afraid.

All my files seem to be fine.. I scanned them all and no viruses-- should I do anything?

if you're unaffected then good good... I just had a few people pming me with the problem and I found out that it had affected my files too

I've just had my attention drawn to some Warez hosted on the dhuploads site... please do not upload any form of warez to this site!

Because of this, and the fact that it has been getting rather pricey for me to maintain lately... I am restricting dhuploads to images only.

Everyone has until Monday August 22nd in order to back up and delete any non-image files that are on the dhuploads server. Any that are left on the server after this point will be deleted and i'm afraid will not be backed up.

tastyweat you should remove the users who have done this and ipban them and also report their names to zardon, who then IMO should ban their asses from DH.

Should banned members of DH be able to use this web-space? There is at least one banned member using the space-

not sure if he was the one that was uploading warez or not, but it would be a shame if he ruined it for all of us..

Also a banned member having access to all the files (since this is based on the honor system) is dangerous. He could delete everything on the webspace just to be an ***

Maybe a new password is in order?

Again, thanks so much for use of this webspace, it is such a huge convenience!

dhuploads is down now I'm afraid, it was rather abrupt so sadly I wasn't able to back anything up... I hope you guys haven't lost anything.

I'm afraid it won't be coming back up either... it's been getting far too expensive to keep it up and I simply can't afford to keep it up anymore.

i did wonder where my sig had gone,but did think it may of been a temporary thing.

As you made my flash sig do you still have the file so i can transfer it to my image host?

Afraid not - it's totally down (including my site - I've had big issues with the people providing the server - they've taken 100s of pounds more than they should have with no warning, no invoice... they said I saigned something... which i never did... in the process of trying to recover that money) - you're gonna have to use the likes of photobucket to upload pics now

As I hadn't actually done anything to my website since the end of last year... it kind of died a death... I decided not to find another server.

Any ideas for a good place to upload personal files- even for a monthly fee?

BWX if you have a gmail account that should work, i think there are apps allowing you to use it like FTP

Oh really? I do have a gmail account.. I had no idea you could do that. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah image shack is easy enough, but I like the way tasty's server worked, where it sent everything via FTP (I use WS-FTP pro) and I could just right click on any pic on my HD and just send it- Then go to the website and it was there. Then make a link to it and it showed up on the forum. I would pay a monthly fee for something similar. Even my small 10MB web storage from my ISP didn't work that way.. I had to manually type in the addresses to see the pics..

Only problem with image shack is that (AFAIK) you don't have a list of all the pics you uploaded over the past year or whatever.. Maybe if you register you can FTP the pics and have image shack retain a list of them? Also I like doing other kinds of files like rar or small movies from time to time.

I'll look around... or start another thread about this if they want to close this one... I remember a thread about inexpensive web-space a while ago and people had some good recommendations, I will try to find that.

I'll find something somewhere.. all good things must come to an end.

I was clueless about hosting pics because of being spoiled by Tasty's server..

But I registered at image shack and now it is pretty easy. It keeps tracks of all your images and also gives you a bunch of very easy to use for forums/etc..

Register at image shack (free) and check it out. It works very well.
