u have to erase all words in it but its an ALT code i'm not sure what it is but i'll find out within the day ( i'm in schol and cant do much rite now)

but yes the ALT code elaves a blank space BUT your computer reconizes it as a character

/\ it doesn't allow you to, jus' reverts back to the original name but the character reference thingy is accepted, you still get a lil/ugly space when an icon is selected, maybe there's a program around that will do this.

No, you hold down the ALT key and type 0160 on the numeric key pad

delete the text and HOLD ALT and press 0160 and then release alt and u should have alittle space the first icon u do that to u only have to do it once and the second icon u do u have to do it twice and the third icon u do, u have to repeat that 3 times and so on and so forth

ther is a little file that i downloaded a while backed when i frist installed XP that makes the color and the icon transparent il see if i can find it

for Win98se:
In regedit, go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Modify the value of: (Default) , you can just delete "Recycle Bin" and leave it blank
Hit OK, go to the desktop, hit F5 to refresh, and voilÃ*! No name, not even the little space beneath the icon!

For other ver. of Windows, try a similar approach, perhaps searching in registry for "Recycle Bin"

If your using nortons here is a little trick i figured out on recycle bin propertys where you can rename the recycle bin just erase all text and poof no title.
