Well, a while ago in my youth group, we had a really interesting topic in discussion. It was about people & their personality, and we all got to find out what kind of personality we had.

How you ask? Well, there are four different types of personality. There was a test attatched as well that you could take and see what you were, I'll search the net and post it here if I find it.(or if someone else could do it for me, I'd appreciate it

)
The different types are

1)Sanguin
2)Melancholic
3)Phlegmatic
4)Choleric

I'll try and give a little overview on what each one is like:-

1)Sanguins

-are very talkative
-like to have fun

-are largely disorganized in general
-are very loving people
-one minute they're arguing with you, the next they're your friend
-get excited very quickly/easily
-like to get noticed (do stuff around people to attract attention, eg blow balloons when you walk in

)
-have an unstable character
-are very hard to convince
-are always optimistic
-lack deep compassion
-have killer mood-swings
-like to pretend they understand
-like to behold themselves in the mirror
-feel happy when praised
-their decisions are likely to be the wrong ones
-it's easy to lead them astray

2)Melancholics

-are very analytical
-like art
-are mega-planners, like to have everything they do to have a set date/time to be executed on
-are very precise
-are creative people

3)Phlegmatics

-are highly dependable
-are very peaceful, M.O.P.s <Men(and women

) Of Peace>
-are diplomatic
-are very efficient
-however, have to be pushed to do work as they are laid back/unmotivated
-are quite orderly/very organized
-are very slow decision makers

4)Cholerics

-are goal oriented
-are highly sarcastic
-are risk takers
-like to be in "control"
-mean the opposite of what they say more often than not
-are very serious people
-are impatient
-very argumentative
-are insensitive

It is very unlikely that you would fall completely in one catagory. Most people fall definately in two different catagories. Hence, we say "Phlegmatic melancholic" if one is more of a phlegmatic than a melancholic, and the other way round if he/she is more melancholic than phlegmatic.

I myself think I am a Sanguin melancholic, but the test says I'm a sanguin choleric.

Oh well.

Maybe this thread could oil the cog wheels on which these forums run on as people get to know each others strengths & weaknesses, just post what you think you are, and others can throw in a few comments (having posted their own ofcourse so we can comment on them too,

then we can find out who you really are.
Thus, people will understand you better having acknowledged your strengths & your short-comings.

im 99% choleric. only thing that doesnt match me exactly is "mean the opposite of what they say more often than not" other wise, thats completly me.

This actually stems from Medieval diagnosis for disease and which forms of treatment you should have.

Sanguine diseases are when you have too much blood, or bad blood. This was cured by blood letting. thought of as warm and wet.

Cholerics are (I think) when you have too much yellow bile (urine). They are described as warm and dry.

Melancholics have too much black bile (you know what this is). black bile is cold and dry.

Phlegmatics have to much mucus in their throats. (they had another word for this, but it escapes me at this time). this is cold and wet.

I'm a Sanguins Phlegmatics (who came up with these words?) most likely (might be in reverse order) I'm not completly organized by some standards but I am I guess. (I know where they are just don't catagorize or make it look clean

)

I don't think so (behold no way), (pretend? no to blunt to care)

(i'm not likely to make wrong decisions, and wonder what they mean by astray.... umm sortof I guess for that one [lead them astray])

Here's how I scored on the test:-
