Japan sends 'research' whaling ships to Antarctic

Five ships Japan today for the Antarctic Ocean to conduct ''research whaling''.

Some 200 crew members will catch up to 440 minke whales in order to collect data about their population and distribution to report them to a subcommittee of the International Whaling Commission.
They are scheduled to return to Japan next April.
It plans to boost the figure to 820 whales next year.

Its more like resumption of commercial whaling, 820 whales by next year, very sad
