Just an info post on how to possibly deal w/problematic companies.

A few months ago I bought some RAM labeled PC-133. I recently ran 4 diagnostic programs on it. It is running @ 100mhz. I have another module from a different company labeled PC-133. It is running @ 133mhz. Changing slots doesn't make any difference.

I contacted the company on the PC-133 @ 100mhz. They offered to RMA it & replace it if I paid for shipping & insurance. I told them I want a refund & refused to pay any more $$.

They said unless I do it the way they said: they couldn't help me. I told them I could (& would) report them to the State Atty. General Consumer Fraud Division for mislabeling & would file a 'small claims' suit locally that they could defend, by sending an Atty. here, or lose & have a judgment against them for the price of the RAM.

They have given me their Fed Ex account # to return the RAM (insured & at their cost) & they will refund my money!

If you are a victim of the same type of thing > be calm & explain to them you will use your legal options too.

I realize that not everyone has the options I do because you don't live where I do. Become aware of your rights & exercise them if necessary.

I hope this helps anyone experiencing similar 'problems'.
