graveyard sucks....but having a "floating schedule" is perhaps worse.
I never know when I'm working until like, 8 days ahead of time

Yeah I worked midnight to 8AM for 2 years, I swear to god it messed up my sleeping schedule for the rest of my life. 2nd shift wasn't too bad.. something like 4PM to midnight.. but it still messes with your head.

It not only messes with your sleep but also with everything else, your system will be totally confused at first, you will get hungry at weird times and at the time your supposed to you will not be able to eat. Your internal clock will get all messed up. It's really not fun. Like i said, i'm done with the graveyard shift for over a year now and my system has still not ajusted to "normal" time.

Thing about graveyard is that you'll eventually get used to it and it will feel like your working normal hours, problem is..getting used to it...like most things in life...

i hate electicle problems.... half of the vettes radio is dead. but i can get it to work if i put pressure on top of the radio its self. as soon as i take my hand off the top of the radio, the 2 speakers go out again.

Lightning struck VERY close to my house.... like 3 times in 10 seconds.
I turned off my PC.. unplugged it- waited till storm passed. Plugged PC back in.. I hear click click click click.. etc.. It won't boot.. Gets stuck on boot screen detecting IDE drives.. It detects my main one.. the new 160GB one. I also have an older 40GB with lots of stuff on it. It won't detect that one. I turn it off - let it sit for a few minutes.. Try again.. Same thing, but this time I go into BIOS setup. I see no 2nd IDE drive.. Restart.. It detects the second one, but numbers are all wrong.. it won't boot. I power down, unplug PC, unhook 40 GB HD, restart. Boots up normally with just the 160GB HD. So shit I have saved since 2002 is all gone.. About 30GB of stuff.. some is backed up somewhere think.. but not all of it. That blows. Gonna try to get it to boot again with that HD hooked up, if it doesn't.. I guess I lost all that stuff.

so you live outside of buffalo then?
we don't ever get heavy rains like that here. all we get are earthquakes and hurricane force winds through the cajon pass

Yeah near the "Amherst" word.. We get lots of rain, and live right near the largest fresh water deposit on the planet. Water is not a problem. I've seen 8 feet of snow up here in 3 days.. not drifts, the drifts covered houses. Our cars were completely buried.. not even lumps in the snow. It was crazy.

oh....and a 20min. oil change turned into a 2hr. job
![]() yea.....i went to change my mom's oil in her car cuz she asked me to, and i was like "ok, no problem." so i go to change it, and freakin' the oil plug is stuck like no other. i ended up needing to use the impact gun to take that biatch off. THEN, the oil filter, NEVER came off . i don't have the tool for it, and whoever the mechanic was who changed the oil last, must have been like superman or something to put that sh!t on.

I've run into the oil filter problem & if your not squimish about it.... Driv e a long heavy flat head screw driver through the oil filter & use that to give you leverage to turn the filter. Just do it high enough up on the filter so you don't hit the bolt mount tha tthe filter actually screws onto. Should work like a charm.
