Re: Randomness Resurected
well Lloyds may be haemorrhaging money at an alarming rate, but at least their automatic fraud systems work well
missus got a call off them this morning telling her that they'd stopped some suspicious transactions on her account. looks like someone cloned her card and was attempting to spend spend spend. the bank stopped all transactions straight way though, so the only thing the person actually got away with was a bus ticket ![]() i gotta say, if you've stolen a card and someone else is paying, why the hell would you take the National Express ffs ? why not a nice 1st class train ticket ?

Re: Randomness Resurected
To be fair, Lloyds may indeed be haemorrhaging money, but they've got to be the safest bank in the world right now - there's no way they're going down while HM Treasury remains in business :P

Re: Randomness Resurected
haha that's true
Just found one other thing, they managed to top up a mobile phone too Bank have been really good, promised the 2 things that they managed to pay for will be refunded, no questions asked. Not bad, a phone top-up and a bus ticket, could've been much worse. |

Re: Randomness Resurected
This is just a little random post that i can not understand...
Just out of curiosity that when it comes to websites that host Videos/Game Trailers etc that require a user to either enter the age or D.O.B to view the content... Due to the age requirements.. So my point is if i were under age and entered a D.O.B under false pretenses (even at the age of 38 i never give my true D.O.B) what is the point of it... ? who can prove who were online at the time. |

Re: Randomness Resurected
it's just another of those 'cover our backs' legal things
if anyone ever tries to sue them cos their kid watched some disturbing game clip, they're covered because they had an age restriction in place. bank refunded all the money that was stolen already. i'm impressed tbh |

But back to a random post.. I see today Tesco's Supermarket is still delving into the underhanded Tactics of the so called 1/2 price offers bullshit. Seriously they had one shelf full of a 2 pack of sirlion steak (My fav steak)on offer at half price of £9.48 (Previously £19) .. And that is without the cost of the veg that goes with the steak..And the cost of elec/Gas to cook the whole bundle...And taking a good 2 hours of my time. This is partly why i go for a pub lunch every sunday to get a steak i like & with a couple of pints.. And still comes under tesco's so called offer for two people. |

Re: Randomness Resurected
So i'm feeling pretty banged up atm, Went out with the missus last night for her 18th bash, Pretty chilled out affair, few drinks getting a bit wasted having fun and having a laugh.
She brought one of her mates along and we hit up a rock bar in Bradford, later on when we went to leave though her mate handed me his coat and said he was running back inside to have a shot before the taxi arrived, The missus said she was feeling sick so i put the guy's coat down and went to go see if she was alright. Next thing i know he comes back out, picks up his coat, walks straight up to me and headbutts me, I shoved him and he went down but i decided against kicking the living shit out of him because there was CCTV all up and down the street. When we were in the taxi back he looked back at me and said "I'm really sorry" and was met with a short and sweet "F off" next red light he jumped out the taxi and actually ran off.So today i've got a huge swelling on my nose and it's slowly turning purple, Hurts like a bitch as well. AND i'm hungover >_< |

Re: Randomness Resurected
Oh you know, just the usual. Oil motivated conflict in the Middle East, but also in East Africa. Politicians remain hopelessly out of touch with society. Income inequality both internationally and intranationally continues to grow. A number of Eurozone economies are shaky, but the worst looks past, though the future looks bleak. The London Olympics were a broad success. In the tech world, Intel launched processors which extended the gap yet further between them and AMD. AMD looks safe due to its graphics business, however, with Nvidia having failed to take even the much coveted single GPU crown until very late in the year, and also lanching few compelling products in the low-end, while all three new consoles were confirmed as featuring AMD graphics. Nvidia as such conceded yet more market share to AMD, and look increasingly reliant in the short term on their performance in the mobile/tablet sector. Most game releases were hopelessly untested. None would have been in the top 5 of the year if released in 2007. For the first time in recent memory, 5 year old mid-high-end computers look viable for at least another few years, owing to excellent hardware available at that time (C2Q), lack of advancement in software requirements and new features being mostly restricted to gimmicks. On a similar note, the best keyboard in the world is the IBM Model M, launched in the 80s, and the best monitor is the 3840×2400 pixel IBM T220, launched in 2001. Hard drive prices have come down, but smaller SSDs are increasingly affordable. Windows 8 receives a sceptical press amongst the enthusiast community. No new cars in any sensible price range are significantly more reliable or better in any way than a 30-year-old Mercedes 190E. On the 21st of December, the world failed to end.

Re: Randomness Resurected
Bought a DLC for a game for the first time in my life.
I think that, 90% of the time, they are a way to milk more money from gamers by charging extra for something that was artificially removed from the game, but Deus Ex: HR has already given me very enjoyable 47 hours of play for those initial ~11€ I payed for the faux Augmented Edition, so these extra 3,73 for a few more hours were too tempting to pass. Not sure if I made a good deal or I'm becoming susceptible to their tricks.

Re: Randomness Resurected
Sometimes a little drastic action is required..And i don't mind cats all in general terms.
Over the last month getting a little peed off with next doors cat has decided to start using my back doorstep as a Deposite point every morning... So im waging war with the cat after constantly clearing up it's mess. So im placing one of these in every corner of the garden... I don't like doing this to the cats around but the stench of cat droppings is horrible.. |
