i hate idiots.
my sister was complaining that her computer wasnt working. no suprise there, she always screws it up. anyways, this time she was saying it wouldnt even start. well i hop on it, but it really is acting odd, and for some reason there was about 50 tasks running, and i couldnt get into task manage with ctrl alt del. i turn all the crap off, virus scan, reboot. in the post its makeing this god awful beeping noise. check disk flashes up but quickly dissapears. im in windows, but a couple of warning logs pop up momentarily and are gone as fast as they appeard. then the system reboots again for some reason. this whole time im thinking, what in the hell is going on here? ive never encounterd anything like this. and then i realise what the problem is. she has crap piled a mile high on the keypad with the enter key stuck down. i pulled hte keyboard out from the mound and everything works just fine again. did a reboot and the sound was gone, the warning logs were what i thought (nothing to worry about) so i just clicked do not show and now its all back to normal.

damn it... this is going to be expensive. i found out why my fuel filters were plugging up so fast in the vette. i actually took a look inside the gas tank today, and the inside of it is coverd in rust. in the bottom of the tank, theres piles of rust down there next to the sending unit.
sooo... im shopping around for a new tank now. looks like its going to 200+ for the damn tank, and about 4-6 hours of work takeing the old one out and putting the new one in. not a project im looking forward to.

for the cost of a replacement tank you can usually find a 12-15 gallon fuel cell if you look hard enough
![]() I'm in the same boat, and I get to unbolt the rear crossmember in order to get the heatshield off so that i can even get at my tank...fuuuuunnnn |

heh, thats not so bad. the recommended way to get at mine is to lift the body off the frame.
if you dont want to go that far, you pull the mufflers off. thank fully, last time i was able to get away with just pulling the tire carrier off, on hooking the mufflers from the hangers, and spreading the mufflers apart. was a tight fit, but it did make it out. as for those fuel cells, i already run out of gas fast enough in this thing. a 12-15 gallon cell would cut my max storage by 1/4-1/2 seeing as i run a 20 gal on it right now. really gotta see if i can get my hands on a 'tanker' gas tank. i dont know how they ever cramed them in, but from 63-69 they had a 36gal tank option on them.

.i wish my car had a larger tank. even an extra 2gal of fuel would make my car a drive a little longer. on 14.5gal of fuel (my tank is 15gal), my car can travel 260mi. not very far. |

im not entirely sure what my mileage is, but i think i get about 160-200 miles on my 20 gallon tank right now. thats 8-10mpg.
would i ever fill up the 36 gallon tank? i most certinaly would. with how much i drive the vette, i would probably only need to fill the tank twice for all of my summer driveing. of course at going gas prices, it would cost me 102.24 to fill that sucker up.

hah ya it is. gas mileage wasnt really all that important back in 69 when gas was only 50 cents a gallon. was all about high horsepower and speed, damn the fuel economy

http://www.random.org
— True Random Number Service — http://www.random.org/sform.html "Oh, many a shaft at random sent Finds mark the archer little meant! And many a word at random spoken May soothe, or wound, a heart that's broken!" -Sir Walter Scott Background Randomness and random numbers have traditionally been used for a variety of purposes, for example games such as dice games. With the advent of computers, people recognized the need for a means of introducing randomness into a computer program. Surprising as it may seem, however, it is difficult to get a computer to do something by chance. A computer running a program follows its instructions blindly and is therefore completely predictable. Computer engineers chose to introduce randomness into computers in the form of pseudo-random number generators. As the name suggests, pseudo-random numbers are not truly random. Rather, they are computed from a mathematical formula or simply taken from a precalculated list. A lot of research has gone into pseudo-random number theory and modern algorithms for generating them are so good that the numbers look exactly like they were really random. Pseudo-random numbers have the characteristic that they are predictable, meaning they can be predicted if you know where in the sequence the first number is taken from. For some purposes, predictability is a good characteristic, for others it is not. Random numbers are used for computer games but they are also used on a more serious scale for the generation of cryptographic keys and for some classes of scientific experiments. For scientific experiments, it is convenient that a series of random numbers can be replayed for use in several experiments, and pseudo-random numbers are well suited for this purpose. For cryptographic use, however, it is important that the numbers used to generate keys are not just seemingly random; they must be truly unpredictable. "It is impossible to predict the unpredictable." -Don Cherry

doing it safely, i dont know. its not something ive actually tried to do. accidently, ive done it a couple of times takeing off and chirped the tires a bit. basicly what you do is get the RPMS up a bit and quickly let out the clutch.
to get the full blown smoke going every where, but your sitting in one spot burn outs, i have no idea.

Well I've done it accidently too...
So you let the RPMS run high and then let go of clutch? Will try!

well, for burning out your tires for a short amount of time; yes, just dump your clutch, just follow what Dark Lord said.
As for burning out your tires continuously, what you have to do is set up the RPMS all high just like when you dump your clutch, and immediately afterwards apply pressure to your brakes. If you feel your car is about to shut off, then release some break pressure, and then re-apply it. That way the car won't stall. If you want to do donuts (need a wide empty spot for this), basically just turn your steering wheel to the left or to the right, and dump your clutch. Do not apply break pressure, or it will stall your car. Note: I don't know if this (other than dumping the clutch) works on a FWD car. All my cars i've done this on have been RWD. |

good god, i just spent about 6 hours in my bedroom cleaning up today. amazingly, i can now completly get my door open, have a wide open room, and have a clean closet.
ok, had a clean closet. i filled it already. up on the top top shelf are sheets and what not. 2nd shelf is my vettes speedometer/tach panel. floor level is a box full of old toys. a huge bag full of beanie babies, 2 door panels for the vette, 1 shift plate for the vette and several other interior pieces. i also have a 2nd shift plate for a later year C3 that i need to sell. i also got rid of 3 garbage bags of general trash, and almost 5 bags of old clothes.
