i just got broadband after 4 years of dial up, i have to say im amazed at the speed of my downloads. But i keep seeing better deals for plans on t.v. Im paying 60 bucks a month for unlimited downloads, speed is 256 download,, 56 upload... this a good deal..?

what are the rest of you guys paying

comcast cable here: 3Mbps down/ 256K up. it's ~$43.00/mth only because we got the cable tv service also...

hahaaha, yea, they do, i had a problem with dialing in one time and they had to transfre me to 3 different people to figure out the problem, and in the end they gave me the wrong ph number... now thats dumb

im getting 137.1 kbps

im paying good money for 256 kbps...

not to freakin happy....

If you're on DSL it could be that you're far away from their station.

I submitted a choosing a high speed vendor guide to Zardon but I don't know what happened to it.. Probably got lost and rightly so considering the site issues which needed to be top priority.

Excessive people is a cable problem.

The distance you are from the station will weaken your speed, and no there's nothing they or you can do about it unless they make a new station or you move lol. Try a different provider they may have a closer station, I was close to an Earthlink station but nowhere near a SBC station (American DSL Companies).

if i wanted to pay for it, i could get 300k/75k speeds i live so close to the Verizon station. My friend down the street, litterally lives next door to the verizon station.

Sixty dollars? Damn. My friend pays that for a Cable modem AND for Cable T.V. Look elsewhere, AT&T has some good deals.

yea thats australian, and there aint no at@t here, everything is run by a rip off company named telstra, for 40 bucks they offer the same speeds with only 400mb downloads...

15c each mb after that

I got SBC Yahoo DSL with 1.2 mb download and 384 upload for only 30 dollars american. Now I've seen them selling it for 20 dollars now in commercials.
