he played so many roles, I will miss him, his east coast personality really made the whole New York experience easier, because he was a kind considerate New Yorker from the island, not some punk from flatbush.

Gonna miss him, he was the best part of Law and order, although Dennis Farina is good too, he was supposed to be doing a new law and order series starting in the fall.

According to this, he died of prostate cancer.

Also, he'd actually left Law & Order last spring and was in the process of starting a spinoff series: Law & Order: Trial by Jury to debut next year.

He was one fine actor and always did a superb job in whatever capacity he performed.
