well after my 9800Pro died I did the following... and yes in the letter I didnt say that it was working again cause it doesnt really matter.... man anyway back to revision...

On Thursday the 6/1/04 morning I woke up and found my screen all weird .. my graphics card was broken, 3d didn’t work and in windows I had loads of display corruption etc. I needed a new graphics card fast since I am a final year student and I need to do coursework revise etc and being a computer science student having a computer is important.

I went to various site look around and in haste and angst I ordered a card from your site somehow cause I couldn’t even see half the stuff I typed in etc due to the bad graphics card.

I then switched of my computer being scared that the card might damage something or fry itself.

Friday I woke up early and waited for my delivery. At 2 o’clock I decided to call you and finally after a long time I got through. Not having access to the net and not having printed out my order (remember haste) I explained to your male college my situation, he asked for the postcode where I life my address and happily confirmed to me that I did not order a graphics card…. I was confused… he told me some other items I ordered but not a graphics card…. Was I going crazy in exam stress??

Anyway I went to town and looked at cards and well in shops cards are about 50% overprized. So I went in haste to my friends cause he told me your last order is 4.30. I arrived at his 4.30 literally and he convinced me to get a 9600xt card… even though I just wanted a cheap card which plays counter strike and that it. I order it did Guaranteed Saturday delivery cause I really needed a card by Saturday and well apparently I didn’t order a graphics card from you Thursday morning so I bought it at 4.35, then I called someone at your office and she said she will make sure that order no. will still go out!

Dam I was happy and had a little drink with my friend cause I was literally rushing to his house to get internet access and place the order and I was exhausted. After a 20 minute chat and a sandwich later I checked my mail.

oh behold:
Order No: 756210 is completed at 8:56 am… and I did order a graphics card Thursday morning!

And my new order for the 9600XT I just placed 756426.

Well first of all I didn’t get the card and well now I tracked it and apparently I wasn’t home which is fair enough…. But after calling you and your staff telling me I didn’t place an order I didn’t feel the need to wait for a delivery

I also tried calling you just before 5 to cancel my just placed order with the £30 shipping but I didn’t get though and then it was to late calling you.

Well great so I spend £50 for a cheap graphics card and £9 on shipping, then I call you and find out I didn’t place an order apparently, then I go out stressed cause I need a graphics card for UNI work, then I realize in shops its way to expensive and my mates make me rush to his and I spend £30 delivery and £90 for a new card, then I find out I did place an order for a new graphics card Thursday and today (Saturday) I find out (cause I am running the new card now and can use my computer) that I missed Fridays delivery because your staff told me I didn’t place an order.

Yes I know its my fault, I should have printed my order, not be convinced by your staff telling me that I didn’t place an order and think I am crazy. I know you wont do anything about this, and yes I know I could return the product within 7 days get a refund etc. but its all hassle and even more shipping cost etc.

Not a happy customer.

You need to phone them, overclockers.co.uk have a terrible response time to emails. I also wouldnt go into all the personal issues of being a student, it just complicates the issue and detracts from the main point of them replacing the card under warranty which they are required to do. Phone them and get an RMA number, then send it back Monday special delivery, you should get a replacement end of the week.

oh no my 9800Pro died but its not under warranty.

wait its to earlie maybe I wrote the letter wrong.. (students go to bed at 2am and waker up at around 11 normally )

no sounds ok to me.

I am just angry cause I went out friday and missed my delivery, then I bought another card and then I find out I did order the day before one and that I missed the delivery.

anyway I dont like the 9250Pro it doesnt run CS with 2AA and 4AF over 100FPS... I stick with the 9600XT, sell the 9250Pro and test the 9800Pro after exams a few days cause its working again!!!??? (doesnt make sense on why it works again but I dont care, and yes I know the 9800 is better but hell I hardly play games and if I sell the 9800Pro I will get around £100 hopefully paying of the 9600XT nearly.. us students are not very £££)
