"Sleep is an entirely inadequate substitute for caffeine"

More than just a corny statement, words to live by! (On REALLY bad days at least. )

I was up late this morning (eh?) writing a paper for my PoliSci class. With the help of at least a gallon of Code Red, those herbal energy pills and the like, I was throughly convinced at one point that I no longer needed sleep ever

I know how you feel....

....since September, sleep has seemed like that 5 minute period between homework and the time when I have to leave for school....

Just wait until you have a couple of kids, that 5 minute period will seem like a luxurious dream you only can half recall....

I'm looking forward to retirement, oh that sounds so great, and hopefully any kids on the way to that stage will be grown up and having kids of their own, I jus' hope I don't end up being too old to enjoy my free time when I finally get it!

If you say so... but I won't have to worry about that damned ridiculously friggin impossible to get International Baccalaureate Diploma!! I may get less sleep, but at least I'll be able to keep my sanity .

I have a baby brother and at times, I've stayed up and taken care of him at night so that my parents can get sleep. It feels like recreational time compared to the hell I have to go through!

these links ought to give you the right idea about my day to day experiences:

...the saddest part is.... that these sites aren't exaggerating in the least bit

Oh, and let me know if you go insane after a few weeks of non-sleep Java...because if you don't, you'll be the first to remain mentally stable after prolonged sleep deprivation!

That's not true! I've been having prolonged sleep deprivation for about 4-5 years running and it hasn't affected my mental stability one little...

Oh, yeah. I see your point now. Never mind.

The damned monkey is telling me to go to sleep! That's a first for me!

I think the LONGEST nights sleep I've gotten since Thursday has been 4 hours, (no joke!), and it's been a damned busy and long weekend that isn't gonna be over for another 4 hours yet 'til the wife gets off work....then it's about another 2-3 hours 'til the kids are in bed....THEN I FINALLY GET A COUPLE OF HOURS OFF TO PLAY BEFORE I GO COMATOSE FOR A WHILE!!!!!

Ooops, sorry. Just whining. I gotta go make another pot of coffee, I'm still only on my third this morning.

Careful, reno -- you can overdose on caffeine. I got the medical record entry to prove it.

Both. OH! Wait a second...I see what you're asking now. No it's the third pot of coffee I just finished up. (Well, third and a half if you count the one I drank with the wife before she went to work.)

I know, I know....but if I drink too much too quickly I get to shaky too use the tinsnips, so I've kind of been taking it light today.

With that said, I think I'll go make pot number 4...which I'll drink in me mug.
